Of Writer's Block and Inspiration

When Temperance Brennan deleted a whole paragraph for the third time that afternoon, she knew she'd have to face the facts. Writer's block had kicked in full time. She had written a whole new novel, save for the last paragraphs. It hadn't been a problem; the story almost seemed to have typed itself. She had, however, no idea how to end it properly.

Kathy walked up to Andy Lister and gave him a hug.

No. Delete.

Temperance bit her lip as she stared at the screen blankly. She released a sigh, then placed her fingers over the keys again and started typing.

Andy Lister inched closer and their lips met in a passionate kiss.

No good either. With a grunt, she pushed down on the backspace button until the sentence was deleted from her computer screen.

Kathy and Andy shared a hug and a kiss.

No. No. No. Even worse.

Maybe it was time to officially give up. She pushed herself from the desk and got out of her seat. She crossed her office and sat down on her couch. She slightly turned her head in order to look out of the window. Her gaze fell upon her friends and colleagues Angela Montenegro and Jack Hodgins. The lovebirds, she remembered, was the correct term. She smiled to herself when she recalled something Angela had confessed to her a while ago. She stood up and hurried back to her computer screen, a rush of inspiration taking hold of her. With a grin on her face she started typing, knowing this time the delete and backspace buttons would be left untouched.

Kathy and Andy made their way over to the building's storage room and proceeded to make out.

She grinned to herself. "Perfect."
