"Oh, Sempai! Look!" Tobi awed as a dim light flickered past his face. More of the lights began to appear, but the S-ranked, blonde terrorist didn't seem to take notice.
"You're not looking," Tobi frowned.
"They're just fireflies," Deidara sighed as he watched his masked partner catch a glittering bug. It flashed in annoyance.
"But they're pretty." Tobi's lack of a better word made Deidara shudder. "Can we catch some and keep them?"
"I don't care, un. Do what you want."
"Great!" Tobi tittered, going inside the Akatsuki hideout; to get a jar to keep them in, no doubt.
"You and your fascination for unimportant items, un," Deidara complained as Tobi caught a dozen or so fireflies.
Tobi seemed to ignore Deidara's comment. "Doesn't it seem as if they'll shine forever?" he asked, watching the mini-light show in the jar.
"No," Deidara said flatly. "Everything dies out. It's art, un." He brushed his blonde fringe out of his eyes. "See? The bugs are already beginning to dim, un."
Tobi didn't hesitate to show his disappointment as he did, in fact, see the fireflies one-by-one dim and burn out.
"Let them out, un. The probably need oxygen," Deidara suggested.
Tobi did as he was told, and soon the lights brightened up and joined the others. "You were right, Deidara-Sempai!" He sounded pleased.
"Of course I am," Deidara frowned. "When am I not?"
Tobi answered with a shrug. "I'm going inside. Are you coming, Sempai?"
"Not quite yet, un," the blonde replied.
"Suite yourself," the raven0haired nin said, briskly strolling to the lair.
Deidara watched Tobi leave for a few moments before adverting his gaze to the sparkling insects.
"You're annoying, un," he said to them.
One landed on Deidara's nose and twinkled.
Deidara
smiled.
