Losing someone important is one of the saddest things on earth. But then why couldn't he cry? Why couldn't he scream and rage because he lost someone so important to him? He could feel the hole in his heart but he couldn't explain to his nakamas why he wasn't able to cry. They were crying. Even Sanji were sad. He couldn't stop cooking. Robin was reading, book after book and when she ran out of books she sat and stared at nothing, she still couldn't believe it. Nami were trying to get Sanji stop cooking. She said there were no use, no one was hungry. For the fist time in his life Sanji didn't listen to her. He couldn't stop cooking. Chopper had locked himself into his room and he were screaming that it was his fault. Franky busied himself by making new inventions for Thousand Sunny. Usopp helped him, saying that he needed the work to forget. Forget that he ever knew him. Brooke were playing. Sad tunes that made it echo in the hole in his heart. But he still couldn't cry.
"...Zoro...what would you have done...?" He sighed and look out at the sea from his favorite spot. Nothing would ever be the same again.
No sleeping swordsman sprawled out on the deck. No swordsman that trained and fighted with the cook. No swordsman saying encouraging things when the other's had lost their hope.
"...Zoro...why did you leave us? ...leave me?"
The wind blowed and made his eyes tear up. He pulled down his beloved straw hat over his eyes so no one would see. His shoulder's trembled when he fought down the tears.
He remembered what Zoro had said when he lay dying in his arms.
"Don't feel sorry for me...don't cry because of me, I don't want that..."
And now he did the opposite of what Zoro wanted him to do. He cried. He screamed when he felt the sadness and rage rip his heart to pieces.
"WHY ZORO!? WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE WHEN YOU KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!?" Nami and the other's rushed to him when they heard his scream. Sanji wrapped his arms around him and hugged him close to his chest saying it was okay. But he lied. They had lost Zoro, the first mate. Their nakama. It wasn't okay but he couldn't think of anything else to say. Usopp and Chopper were hugging eachother crying for their friend. Franky and Brooke stared out at the sea trying not to cry but they failed. Robin held Nami close to her whispering incoherent things. Soon he stopped screaming and silently stared into space. His crew were silent, looking at him. He knew Zoro would have wanted tem to move on, no matter how hard it would be. But he would do anything for his first mate so he pulled himself together and smiled his usual goofy smile.
"Let's eat!" He stated earning a few smiles from the other's.
"Yes captain!" They answered and went to the kitchen talking loudly. Later everyone exept one were sleeping soundly. He walked out of the kitchen and stood at the front of the ship.
"Someday, I will become the King of Pirates, and then I'll be so powerful that my name echoes through the corners of the world. My name will be acknowedged even in Heaven...so please...be patient...and wait for me...Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro! The Greatest Swordsman in the World!"
And somewhere, in a place far away from the human world, a green haired man smirked and tightened his grip on his three katanas.
"As you wish...captain Monkey D' Luffy...!"
