Cloud waited two rings before Zack answered his phone.

"Cloud!?" Zack answered right away, "Is this you?"

"Zack!" Cloud almost broke down, "Did Timothy talk to you?"

"Yeah, Cloud we have a whole squad looking for you and Genesis, where are you, are you hurt?" Zack panicked.

"I'm okay, I promise, just feeling exhausted. I managed to escape him, he was weak, and I managed to hurt him," he explained, " I was under the sewers in Sector 3, but I ended up passing out, I was found by the owner of Club Leisure and brought back here."

Zack sighed in relief, "Shit Cloud, I was really worried... once we heard the name Genesis, we managed to get practically half of Soldier out looking. Even some Turks were sent out."

"Zack…please just come get me, I wanna go home….,"Cloud slumped against the wall.

"Alright Spiky, I got you man, you say The Leisure? We will be there," Zack did not think to mention Sephiroth as his companion.

"Thank you," Cloud said tiredly.

"He says he is at The Leisure in Sector 3, were not too far," Zack told Sephiroth, knowing the man overheard the conversation.

Sephiroth looked passed Zack. 'The Leisure…he must be with Anabel…its been a while since I've seen her….' Sephiroth thought of the woman, he had the pleasure of sleeping with her once when he was younger. He knew the type of woman she was and the people she associated with. Only those of higher class ever visited the establishment. She was a professional at reading and manipulating people. Which made him worry for Cloud. Why there of all places? But one question that bothered him the most was, 'Why had Genesis had taken the boy in the first place'?

"Call off the men, Genesis must have wasted no time in escaping if he knew we were coming. The priority now is Strife, you and I will go and get him," Sephiroth turned to the direction of Sector 3.

"Alright men, fall back, head back to Shinra, we will take it from here," the men did as ordered, but Zack noticed a couple of blue suits lingering about. The tall bald Turk and the red headed lanky one, both giving Zack and Sephiroth the side eye. The red head smirked and it that's all it took for Zack to get annoyed. Zack knew they were up to something, they were probably wondering why the General nearly ordered half of Soldier out for one Cadet. With one last nod, both Turks turned away and headed back to Shinra.

"Hmph," Zack followed to where Sephiroth was headed, the man already far ahead of him.

"Please be okay Cloudy…"

After Cloud spoke with Zack, he headed back to Anabel's room and she handed him his clean clothes. He changed back to his own wear, much to Anabel's insistence he stay dressed in the wife beater, telling him how simply delectable he looked in it. Cloud ignored her weird antics.

"My comrades are coming for me," Cloud told her, "thank you for letting me use your phone."

"It's no problem," she smiled sweetly at him.

She cupped his face, making him look straight in her direction, Cloud looked at her big lashed eyes and red plump lips as she smiled seductively at him, "You know….you can always leave Shinra and come work for me," she said.

Cloud pulled his face back, grimacing at what she was suggesting. She just laughed at him, "You know I can keep you safe here, you will be well paid of course."

Cloud shook his head, "Not interested…," he muttered. He wasn't going to become a whore for this woman simply for money and 'safety'.

"Come now, is Shinra all its really cut out to be?" She asked him, "What…are you trying to become like Sephiroth?"

Cloud turned his head to her about to ask her what her problem was….when he froze, remembering what the silver haired General confessed earlier, practically forcing himself on Cloud.

Cloud turned his face back, eyes downcast, "No…. nothing like him…," Cloud sighed.

Anabel looked at him with interest in her eyes, "Have you met the man?" She asked him curiously.

Cloud chuckled, "Oh yeah…. I've met him…and I don't really think I wanna talk about him." He suddenly felt exhausted just thinking about what had happened between the two.

The dancer eyes widened a little bit, something unsavory must have happened between the two that the boy was so dismissive about him. But what could have happened between the General of the Shinra army and a lowly cadet. "You know I slept with him before," Anabel suddenly said.

Cloud turned to her with sudden interest. Then looked past her at the wall, thinking about that statement. Cloud suddenly thought about what type of man the General had to be to come to a place like this, no matter how high class and up the pedestal it was to the Honeybees.

"Yeah…. nothing like him…no offense or anything."

"None taken…," She lit a cigarette, and puffed at it for a bit before putting it out. They both sat on the bed, waiting for Cloud to get picked up.

A while later a burly man with tattoos covering his arms knocked before opening the door.

"We got two of them Soldiers outside asking for the kid. One of them looks real important ma'am," he said, Cloud noticeably flinching. He had hoped to Gaia, Sephiroth would not be the ones to come get him.

Anabel smirked, "Well, looks like your guardians are here young man, lets not keep them waiting. He grudgingly got up and they made their way to the entrance. Not even a second out and Cloud was glomped. He didn't even need to look to see who it was.

"Cloud!" Zack exclaimed, his eyes were red rimmed when he let Cloud go enough to look at him. Cloud smiled softly, really relieved to see him, even though he did not express it.

Cloud noticed the figure behind Zack. Sephiroth stood a few feet away, tall and imposing as always. He nodded, "Cloud, I am glad you are safe."

The cadet nodded back and saluted to the man, "Sir, thank you, sir."

It was subtle but wanted to let the man know even though he was grateful, he had still not forgotten what had happened and it showed how he planned for their relationship to be from now on. Strictly General and Cadet.

Sephiroth frowned at the response. He would need to talk to Cloud soon. He would not accept things the way they were. Hopefully before the trip to Junon or even during, they would sort this out. But first things first.

"Cloud…we must head back to Shinra and bring you in for questioning. It is important we know what exactly happened," Sephiroth said.

"Seriously, we only just got him back and you wanna put him through that," Zack disapproved.

"Zack its okay, I agree with the General. I believe I can help a little bit," Cloud touched Zack's shoulder to calm him down.

Zack sighed in defeat, "Fine…"

Anabel, who was off to the side, was witness to all of this, only became more interested in the relationship these Soldiers had to the cadet, especially between the General and Cloud. She even noticed how Sephiroth called the boy by his given name. Not one to be ignored, she made her prescience known.

"Well, it was such a wonderful pleasure taking care of little Cloud. I was so worried when I suddenly found him unconscious by those sewers," She smiled sweetly coming up to Cloud and kissing the boy on the cheek. She only smiled more when she noticed the silver haired warrior's eyebrow twitch.

"And it is such a pleasure seeing you as well General sir," Anabel went up to the man and cupped his cheek, fingers sliding down his perfect jawline and lower to the side of his neck. Sephiroth only growled lowly and 'gently' slapped her hand away.

"Oh, so cold." She frowned mockingly at the man but went back to her cheerful self.

"Take the poor boy home, he has been through much today, don't be too hard on him," She winked at the General. Zack put an arm around the boy and led him away, confused as all hell, but he would ask Sephiroth later.

"My offer still stands Cloud, whenever you want to of course," She added lastly, she giggled when the General glared at her and Cloud blushed. It was fun messing with the man, and Cloud just looked so cute when flustered.

Sephiroth glanced sharply at Cloud questioningly, but Cloud ignored the man and kept his eyes downcast, feeling comfort when Zack squeezed his shoulder.

'Looks like I am going to have to talk to him sooner than later,' Sephiroth thought to himself.

After the long trek, they made it back to Shinra headquarters, Cloud looked up at the ominous building, sighing as he went through the sliding doors. He was immediately brought to an unknown section of the building with a mix of a few Soldiers who were in the intel department, and he noticed a few people with dark suits, whom he recognized as the Turks. He was taken inside a small room with only a medium sized table and three chairs, and a mirror, which was obviously a two way mirror. He could imagine the people behind it. He hadn't realized what a big deal this man Genesis was.

Vice President Rufus Shinra was standing in for his father who didn't want any business to do with the situation. Tseng of the Turks stood next to him preparing to question the boy, it was decided he would do so. Sephiroth leaned against the back wall, not liking the idea at all, it should be him going in there. Zack next to him, thought the same thing. Finally, Lazard Deusericus sat in front of the two way mirror, legs crossed, hand under his chin, pondering the boy that is Cloud Strife.

"It is strange that Genesis would just take the boy," he stated, "And considering he managed to escape with no damage is even stranger."

"Sir, I am ready to begin," Tseng told Rufus.

"Very well," He told him boredly. He obviously would rather be elsewhere than here.

Sephiroth only glared as Tseng entered the interrogation room. Cloud looked up at who came in, not recognizing the man, but noticed his attire was basic Turk uniform. Cloud gulped, hoping it would be a Soldier, hopefully Zack who would come in. It appeared as though the situation was a bit more serious than he thought.

"Cloud Strife, you are in the cadet program, correct?" It was obvious the man was trying to warm him up.

"Yes sir…. are you a Turk?" Cloud asked back, guess he would start with a little small talk, if that what the man wanted.

The man smirked, "Yes, good of you to notice. Do you know why I am here Cloud?"

Cloud sighed, "I can only assume it is about the man Genesis."

"Yes…do you have any idea why he would kidnap you Cloud?" The Turk questioned him again.

"…" Cloud was a little embarrassed about the situation, just speaking about it seemed so personal as well.

"I will have to assume that you are in cohorts with the man if you do not answer Cloud," Tseng told the boy. Not only did Cloud look up at the man in worry, but Sephiroth and Zack tensed up at that possibility, but stayed silent knowing better to intervene.

"N..no.., I promise I'm not. It's just…. well, it's just…"Cloud sighed, "Well you see, I know him….from my past."

Sephiroth was now confused. How could Genesis know Cloud? What kind of relationship did they have that he would know someone as powerful as Genesis.

"This only makes you more suspicious Cloud," Tseng told the boy.

"No, I promise, its much simpler than that. You see…he came to my village in Nibelheim back when I was a child. I guess he was taking care of monsters that had come down the mountain or something. He was actually with some…other Soldiers…" Cloud then got a glimpse of his past, and remembered who the other Soldier must have been. He was sure it may have been Sephiroth at the time. Tseng questioned his expression, noticing his hesitation. Deciding not to mention it, Cloud continued.

"I hadn't seen him in a while so I didn't remember him. But back then he saved me from being seriously injured or killed. He brought me back home and told me he would come back soon to see me, you see, we sort of became acquainted. But he neve returned. I can only imagine that realizing who I was, he probably thought I was someone who he could trust." Cloud explained as much as he could to the Turk.

"He actually wanted to take me with him" Cloud added.

"And did he say where?" Tseng asked.

"No… I'm sorry, he seemed, well not himself. He looked sick as well, I think it was how I was able to escape him, he wasn't very strong at that moment. I managed to hurt him," Cloud continued.

"After I made it out of the sewers…I blacked out, and well, here I am," Cloud finished.

Tseng stared at him for a moment, arms crossed, "Anything else that you may remember?"

"No sir, I'm sorry," Cloud apologized, eyes downcast.

Tseng nodded, not seeing anything that would warrant suspicion or lies, "Very well Cloud. Do you think that after the events today, that Genesis would come after you again?"

"Well…maybe…he was quite upset though that I did not go with him, so I don't know," Cloud told him.

"I see…from now on you will be put under surveillance cadet, we cannot risk Genesis trying to take you again, you may be our only connection to the man."

Cloud did not like the sound of that, but knowing he could not go against orders, he only nodded, "I understand sir…"

"Very well, your Soldier friend Zack Fair will be coming to get you, he's quite worried," Tseng told him, all seriousness seeming to leave his face, " You will be briefed about your new schedule and accommodations."

'Accommodations? Schedule?', Cloud sighed, 'Great'.

Sephiroth decided to wait for Zack to get Cloud. He wanted to gather his thoughts. Clouds explanation triggered a memory of him in Nibelheim way back when him, Angeal, and Genesis were still friends. He did remember a young boy that Genesis had found, now that he thought about it, he realized that may have been Cloud. But only after meeting him once, he couldn't believe that in such a brief time, him and Cloud could have gotten so close. But Cloud was an enigma himself, it was only natural for the boy to make such quick friends, with his sweet smile, and soft voice, Cloud could make anyone feel some sort of way.

It churned something in Sephiroth, that Cloud and Genesis may have a relationship, but knew it couldn't be possible, Cloud was so young then, but… how about now…he wondered what Genesis must have tried to do to Cloud when he had kidnapped the boy. He definitely needed to speak to the boy soon. Maybe even now.

"What are you thinking about?" He heard someone ask behind him. It wasn't like him to be startled, but he must have been really distracted by his thoughts, not noticing the presence coming towards him. He composed himself and turned to look at none other than Rufus Shinra, at his side, Tseng who had finished questioning Cloud.

"You were standing so still, anything wrong?" Rufus asked in mock concern, "I noticed you staring with such intensity at the young Cadet in that room, do you have any relations with him?"

Sephiroth glared at the man, "Everything's fine, and its none of your business."

"I wouldn't blame you if you did, I mean he is such a little peach isn't he, so innocent…or maybe not, think he may have something with Genesis?" Rufus egged him on.

Sephiroth growled at him and was prepared to wring his scrawny neck if it weren't for the Turk who came between them. But instead of threatening Sephiroth, he turned to the Vice President, "Sir…that enough, let us go, we have a meeting we must get you," Tseng then turned to Sephiroth, "Turk business."

"You mean involving my cadet, it that what you meant by surveillance?" Sephiroth snapped at him.

"…. like I said…Turk business," Tseng concluded.

"Pooh…. you're no fun Tseng, but it must be scandalous considering your reaction General," Rufus mocked him again.

Sephiroth clenched his fists, "Kidding!" Rufus laughed at him, letting Tseng grab his arm and drag him to wherever they had to be, "Very mature sir," Tseng told him as they walked away.

Sephiroth let out a deep breath, it wasn't like him to let Rufus Shinra get to him, but it seemed that anything that involved Cloud just made him not himself.

The interrogation room door opened revealing Zack with Cloud following behind him, "Hey Seph, just told Cloud the good news, he's staying with me for now, plus sword training is gonna be with me as well."

"I see, you must be excited then Strife," Cloud smiled at the man and nodded.

"Yes sir, I can't wait to start my new training with Zack, I'm very lucky," Cloud replied.

"No doubt…Strife. Would you be willing to take some time to speak with me, there are things I believe we should discuss, preferably before the Junon mission," Sephiroth didn't want to overwhelm the boy after he had been through so much.

Cloud knew he couldn't avoid the man forever, "Perhaps tomorrow afternoon, there are still some things I have to sort out with my schedule and the move."

"Understandable, I will be in my office at that time, mention having an appointment with me at the front desk and you shall be let in," He told Cloud, and even mentioned as an afterthought, "Don't forget."

The underlying threat was there, that if he didn't come, the man would come instead to hunt him down.

"Yes sir."

"Fare well, until tomorrow," And with that, he left them both.

"Bye Seph!" Zack of course called back.

"Man, guys uptight huh, couldn't have been less intimidating if he tried. Right Cloud?" Zack turned to the Cadet. Cloud gulped.

"Right."
