Author's Note: I've always wondered why Victor drew butterflies and why Emily turned into butterflies at the end. I did my research, found out what butterflies represented, and connected it with Corpse Bride. And now I'm writing this fic to describe why I think they chose the butterfly. Read and review. Enjoy!

The butterfly meant love to her. Once she found her true love and was happy, butterflies would surround her and her one true love. Then everything would be wonderful. The butterfly also meant freedom. Freedom from all the troubles in the dangerous world. If only she had thought of the beautiful butterfly when he, Lord Barkis, had brutally murdered her. If only Emily had thought of the butterfly. Then she wouldn't have had to wait under the tree. But she never regretted her decision of staying under the tree. If Emily hadn't stayed under the tree the she never would've met Victor, her husband.

He always drew butterflies. Ever since he was a young lad he drew them. The butterfly was comfort to him. It made him forget about the troubles and it took him to a far away place. It also meant happiness. And Victor seemed the happiest with his wife, Emily. Now every single day he drew butterflies. Many pictures of butterflies were by the piano. The butterflies also meant love. Your soul mate. And Victor knew he had found his soul mate. Emily was everything to him.

To both of the corpses, the butterfly meant freedom and love. The butterfly was their symbol. Both Emily and Victor were freed from their past and sent into a world were they would be able to love. And for Victor and Emily that was the greatest thing.
