Who was the one that hammered the nail in His wrist?
It was the priests, the clergymen, the monks,
Those who were meant to live in holiness.
It was the parents, the teachers, and adults,
Those who should serve as role models.
It was the kids, who should know right from wrong.
It was me.
It was you.
Every time we sin,
We strike the nail,
Hammering it through His wrist.
And yet,
He forgives us.
He did this for the clergy,
The parents, teachers, and adults,
The teenagers who think they know better.
He did it for me.
And He did this for you.
And He doesn't regret it.
Author's Note: This was inspired by a sermon on EWTN (a Catholic TV channel) about the Crucifixion and our role in it. Thanks for writing this! God bless!
