Epilogue

The final battle took place a month later near the Riddle Manor in Little Hangleton. To say Voldemort was unhappy to see Remus, Sirius, and James would be a big understatement. Not knowing they were from another world, he thought they had somehow lived, which ticked him off, especially seeing that James Potter had somehow lived; Voldemort being the one that personally killed him, years ago.

It was a long battle, longer than the other world's final battle. This Voldemort was not as easily distracted by the Priori Incantatum, since he had experienced it before. It took Albus Dumbledore coming into the dual alongside James to distract him while Harry worked the spell. In the end, it worked and James once again saw Voldemort become nothing more than a common muggle. He was far more angered then the other Voldemort, as this would be the second time he lost power because of Harry. Before Kingsley was able to arrest him, he had his pet snake, Nagini, bit him. He rather die than be shamefully place in Azkaban or die then be a muggle, as was most likely the case. He died a moment later, cursing the Potter name. Although they had won the battle, the Death Eaters took many of their friends, Tonks, Bill Weasley, Dedalus Diggle, Sturgis Podmore, Fleu Delacour, Emmeline Vance, Severus Snape, a few upper classman students and many Aurors. A memorial service was held at Hogwarts for all those that had died in the battle and a special memorial was set up for Severus Snape for his courageous acts as a spy.

After taking care of the rest of the Death Eaters, it was time to reveal to the world the three living Marauders. It was agreed earlier that where they came from would remain a guarded secret within the Order.

Sirius Black glared at Harry from across the table and folded his arms, the Daily Prophet laid on the table in front of them. Harry gave him a sheepish, apologetic look as he fiddled with his empty bottle of butterbeer. James grinned at his friend childish behavior before taking a sip of his butterbeer. He turned away to hid his grin, watching the house elves move around them in an organized fashion.

They were just finishing up lunch in the kitchen of Hogwarts. Remus had gone off somewhere that morning and hadn't yet returned. The news that the former Marauders were alive had been released into the public, causing them to have a bittersweet moment. Bittersweet for several reasons. Since they were going to keep the fact they were from another world a secret, they were going to have to pretend that they were the Marauders from this world, who miraculously been alive this whole time and in hiding, trying to defeat Voldemort in secret. James felt horrible taking the place of his counterpart. He felt his counterpart should still be seen as a hero, a martyr. He should be recognized as someone willing to die for his family, but, because of him, he wouldn't be. He would now be known as a father who had to give up his right to his son to protect him, to save him from his fate.

Another thing that made the moment bittersweet, was the revelation that Sirius had been in Azkaban for twelve years, something Harry had failed to mention before. The very reason Sirius was glaring at the almost seventeen-year-old boy. A good thing James was there to act as a witness to his innocence. He was able to truthfully say that Sirius Black was not his family's Secret Keeper. His testament and the dead body of Peter Pettigrew, having had been killed, ironically, by Remus during the final battle, was able to free Sirius of all charges, charges Sirius hadn't even realized he had until they were announced in court. It was quite a scary and confused moment for the unexpected dog animgus.

After discovering that, they made Harry telling them everything, no matter how sad or dark it was. It took a while, but they were finally satisfied after two or three hours.

"Padfoot, give it up already." James said, grinning when his friend turned his glare to him.

"Easy for you to say, Prongs. You're not the one that found out you're a criminal."

James leaned back in his chair. "You should be proud of yourself, Pad. You were the first to ever break out of Azkaban and you did it without any outside help."

"Besides," Harry spoke up. "…technically, he wasn't a criminal. He was innocent, after all."

Sirius turned his glare back Harry. "How would you like to learn you spent twelve years in the worst place on earth?"

James let out a sound and rolled his eyes. "You do realize you didn't spend the years in Azkaban, don't you, Sirius? That was a different Sirius Black."

"So? That is beside the point."

The conversation was thankfully stopped with the arrival of Remus. He paused at the entrance of the kitchen and eyed them, as if sensing he had just stopped the beginning of an argument.

"Master Loppy, sir! Master Loppy, sir!" The house elves called out in greeting, interrupting his questioning stare. "What might we get you, sir?"

Remus stared at the house elves and asked for hot cocoa before sitting down next to Sirius. "Is everything alright here?" He asked eyeing his friend sitting next to him.

James chuckled and nodded. "Yeah. Where have you been?" He asked, curiously.

"Unlike you, I need a job." Remus pointed out without the bitterness one would expect a poor person would feel towards his wealthy friends. Remus was much too nice for that sort of thing. He thanked the house elf that brought him his hot cocoa before turning back to the conversation. "I was out getting a job at a bookstore."

"Which bookstore?" Harry asked.

When Remus hesitated to answer, Sirius gave out his bark-like laughter. "The bookstore? Moony, you rascal! How are Sally Harsh and her young niece?"

Remus gave him a look. "I just got the job today, Sirius." He answered drily.

"So?"

Remus sighed and nodded. "Fine. Yes, I saw Sally at the bookstore. No, Elise was not there. And, no, I did not talk to Sally. Nothing is going to happen between us, Sirius."

Sirius rolled his eyes. "Riiight. Whatever you say, Moony. Whatever you say." Remus glared at him.

"Anyway…" James interrupted before an argument could break out. "I checked out Potter Manor this morning. It was nice to see it again." As James explained to Harry yesterday, Potter Manor was destroyed several years ago in his world. "The house elves were sure glad to see me, but…" He shook his head as he thought back to that morning. "…they were certainly confused. Anyway, Harry and I are moving into the Manor in a few days. Have you found a place to live yet?"

"Working on it." Sirius said. "I am not living in my ancestral house a moment longer then I have to. For goodness sake, Kreacher is still alive. Blimey old weasel. I should give him to my lovely cousin, Mrs. Malfoy." He scowled.

"I'm still looking as well." Remus said.

"You two could stay with Harry and me, if you want. At least, until you find a place." James offered.

"James, you two should have some time together without us…" Remus started to protest before taking a sip out of his hot cocoa.

"You two are family, Moony." James pointed out firmly. "Harry and I don't mind, do we, Harry?" He asked his son.

Harry shook his head immediately. "No, of course not." He smiled. "I wouldn't mind at all."

"I'm all for it." Sirius jumped in. "Come on, Moony. It'll be great! Just the four of us living together…again."

Remus smiled and nodded. "Alright. Just until I find a place of my own."

Sirius raised his glass in the air. "A toast!" He shouted. "To…to…" He struggled to find something to toast to.

"To family." Harry offered.

Sirius gave him a smile. "Yes. To family!"

The four of them raised their glass to the air. "To family." They said with a smile. The glasses clinked together and they all to a sip of their drinks. Harry watched his family and he couldn't remember a time when he was happier. He never been so glad to have the chance to met them and be with them. He was never so glad for the adventure into the other world.

THE END!

Sorry, it's short, but it is the epilogue. Let me know if I left anything out. I hope it's a good enough ending.

Please Review!

Some day I'll go through it and fix some of the mistakes...let me know which mistakes I need to fix...For example, I know in earlier chapters I misspelled Arthur's name...
