Because I need something steady and strong, don't I? Moony always used to say that I was too impulsive for my own good. I never really listened though, and it didn't matter because whenever I did turn out to be to rash, to make too big a mistake you were always there to help pull me up from where I fell over. Even when I did that thing to Moony, that horrible thing to Moony in fifth year… you managed to forgive me, and you helped Moony forgive me too, didn't you? You're always there, James…

In good times and in bad

She was always so sneaky. She made you think she hated you, and she knew that that would just make you want her more. She dragged you along, and you were too blindly innocent to realise that you were being played. You always managed to see the best in people, even people that didn't seem to have very many good points at all… except Snape, but he never deserved your kindness anyway.

Till death do us part

I loved you James. I loved you, and I thought that we would rule the world. I thought we'd last forever. I never wanted the earth to move underneath me, I never expected you to swear yourself to me, or promise yourself… I just always thought that we'd be Padfoot and Prongs. James and Sirius. Always.
