Disclaimer: I do not own the Naruto characters. If I did, they would smex more.

Pairing: InoSaku, SasuSaku
Genre: General, Romance

Just a scene that popped into my head one night. It's not really logical, but ah, well. I suppose I would say that it should be based on the fact that Ino and Sakura were really fighting over each other and not realy Sasuke, but it never gets to mentioning that in here... So really, this is just fan service XD

"Ino-pig!" Yelled Sakura as she burst into the Yamanaka's flower shop. "Guess what, Ino!"

The blonde emerged from behind a flower rack, wiping dirt from her hands. She had obviously been working hard – her hair was all askew, and she was smudged with fertilizer.

"Just tell me, Forehead-girl," she demanded, smiling. Sakura moved to stand directly in front of her best friend, and excitedly held up her left hand, displaying a beautifully simple ring. Ino gasped, and grabbed the hand to inspect it. "Who -?" She started to ask, but stopped, eyes going back to Sakura's face. She had an unrecognizable look in her eyes, and didn't let go of the newly decorated hand.

"Sasuke just proposed!" Sakura's eyes were sparkling with excitement. "I'm getting married to Sasuke-kun, Ino!"

Ino stayed silent, gripping the pink-haired woman's hand in both of hers.

"Ino," Sakura started, frowning. "What's wrong -?!" Ino cut her off by pulling her forward by the arm, and firmly putting her lips to the other girl's.

Sakura didn't pull away – she was too shocked to react. When Ino leaned back and released her hand, Sakura simply blinked at her.

"Um…" started the blonde as her cheeks started to color. "That was… I mean…" Sakura just blinked at her again, so she tried again. "I… I got dirt on your nose."

That seemed to break Sakura from the trance. She reached up to touch her nose, and then stared at Ino in consternation. "You just kissed me, and you're worried about dirt on my nose." She paused. "You just kissed me."

Ino's face got redder. "Yeah… sorry. Um. Can we pretend that didn't happen?"

Sakura's expression didn't change. "You just kissed me."

"I said I'm sorry!" Ino repeated, looking more like herself. "So no ignoring it?"

"I just told you I'm getting married, and you kissed me," Sakura deadpanned, raising an eyebrow.

"Look, I didn't mean to… it just kinda happened, okay?" Replied Ino defensively. "I'm happy for you and Sasuke, really, I am. So can we pretend it didn't happen?"

Sakura took a step forward, putting herself in Ino's personal space again. "You have horrible timing," she told the blonde, her eyes sparkling with a completely different gleam.

Ino gulped as Sakura inched closer to her. "Or, you know. We could not ignore it, and I could do it again," she said, nervously excited as Sakura grabbed her hands again. "I mean, it's not like you're married yet…"

Sakura grinned. "No, I'm not," she confirmed.

So Ino kissed her again.
