I'd Lie

A/N: I was inspired by the song I'd Lie by Taylor Swift. I heard it for the first time tonight, and it's adorable.

I love him.

It was a rather depressing thought, an ugly truth, but the truth, none-the-less.

I'm in love with him, and he's my best friend.

I have no idea when I fell into this mess. We hated each other once, and when we started working together as Auror partners we became friends. But now I think of him as more. And I hate it.

The truth is, I, Ginerva Weasley, am in love with Draco Malfoy, and he has no idea.

I've worked with him for three years. And I know everything there is to know about him.

Oh, I could tell you favorite colors green, that he hates all TV, and that he's born on the seventeenth. I know his favorite drink, I know his favorite song, and if he asked me if I love him, I'd lie.

"I'll never fall in love," he swears, running his fingers through his beautiful hair.

I laugh when he says this, still hoping that he's wrong.

I've seen him through break-ups; I'm the only one who's seen him cry. I know the things to say to make him always smile, he knows when to surprise me with my favorite chocolates, and I love his awkward smile, but if he asked me if I love him, I'd lie.

I blush when he offers to beat up my newest ex, I love when he offers to pay, and hate when he pulls my red hair. He loves to argue, and he has his fathers eyes. If he ever asked me if I love him, I'd lie.

He'd never tell you that he likes to play guitar, I swear he can see through everything but my heart. My first thought when I wake up is 'My god, he's beautiful,' so I put on my make-up and pray for a miracle.

Yes, I could tell you favorite colors green, he loves to argue, he's born on the seventeenth. He hates all TV, he has his fathers eyes, and he sees everything in black and white. I know his type of girl, and I know I don't stand a chance.

And if he asked me if I love him, I'd lie.
