Me and Sirius Down by the Schoolyard
By Planxty Lewis, based on Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard by Paul Simon
(Author's notes at the end!)
Snivellus Severus fell to the ground
And he ran to the head of Slytherin
When McGon'gal found out she began to shout
'Bout the trouble we were goin' to get in
It's against the
rules
It was against the rules
Can't do that in school
It
was against the rules
Wormtail smiled
wide, eyes filled with pride
Every time our names
got mentioned
Then Moony said 'Oy! If they get those
boys
They're gonna give 'em 'nother week of detentions'
Well I'm on my
way
I don't know where we're going
I'm on my way
I'm
taking my wand
But I don't know where
Goodbye to Lily, the
queen of Gryffindor
See me and Sirius down by the schoolyard
See
me and Sirius down by the schoolyard
With a couple of
spells we made him madder than Hell
And ole Snape was reduced to
fits
And when they heard that a Black
Was behind the attack
We was all over the
Daily Prophet
And I'm on my way
I
don't know where we're going
I'm on my way
I'm taking
my cloak
But I don't know where
Goodbye to Lily the
queen of Gryffindor
See me and Sirius down by the schoolyard
See
me and Sirius down by the schoolyard
See me and Sirius down by the
schoolyard
Disclaimer: Paul Simon is a god. I don't own his songs. JK Rowling is also a god, and and don't own her amazing creations. Please don't sue me, I have car payments and Student loans to pay off!
Authors notes:
I know that technically it's 'see you me and julio' but I felt that eliminating the 'you' worked out much better and didn't affect the feel and rhythm of the song. Also, I went back and forth between what Lily should be Queen of. I ended up going with Gryffindor, but my other thought was making the line 'Goodbye to Lily, the queen of my heart' and just holding the word heart for an extra beat to make it fit. So if you like how that works, better, pretend that's what you see! ) I've had this one floating around in my head for a while now, so it was good to finally get it down on paper (so to speak). I've just re-read all of the HP books 1-7 in a row in a span of like two weeks, so I've got wizardry on the mind. You can probably expect to see more HP song parodies coming soon.
As Always, feel free to leave a review! And enjoy!
