It was deathly silent in the lab that morning. The only thing that broke the silence was the quiet whimpers. The older gentleman almost turned back before he heard the silence break.

He paced over to the sound and slid his back down the wall to fall beside her. He slowly wrapped his arm around her, as she placed her forehead on his shoulder. The fact that her wet mascara was staining his white shirt was the least of his worries.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

She shook her head, and he moved in closer to make her more comfortable.

"You're sure?"

She nodded. Still not saying a word.

His phone rang once, and he ignored it. But when it rang twice he almost had to oblige. "It's Gibbs."

She motioned that it was okay to answer and he did so. The conversation was short as it always was with Gibbs and he closed it softly.

"He needs me upstairs, you sure you'll be alright?"

"Mmm hmm."

He softly kissed her forehead and stood up. "I'll try and come down to check on you when I'm through. Remember my dear, Time heals all wounds."

She smiled slightly, and returned to blowing her nose with the tissue in her hand.

Upstairs McGee, Tony and Ziva approached Ducky quickly.

"Is she okay?"

"Does she need anything?"

"How is she?"

All three questions were posed at once and Ducky was taken aback slightly. He addressed them, and suggested that a visit wouldn't hurt. And they each agreed to go down and see her as soon as they were able.

Gibbs came in shortly after. "Are we gonna concentrate on this case today?"

"Sure are boss, we're just worried about Abby."

He nodded. "I want a recap on those files when I get back."

"But boss you just left…I thought…" Tony received a stare. "Recap when you get back, got it." Tony pointed, but the four couldn't help but notice the box Gibbs was carrying as he headed towards the elevator.

He entered the lab, and couldn't complain about the silence, in fact, he was the type of creature that liked the quiet. But not for Abby, and he hoped he would be able to help her in that arena.

He slid down the wall beside her and handed the box to her with a nod. "Open it."

"I don't want to." She sounded like a little child and Gibbs simply nodded towards it once more, this time speaking more firmly.

"Open it."

After hearing his tone, she agreed. She lifted it and suddenly her face lit up.

"Gibbs…how?"

"Magic."

She set the gift down and wrapped her arms around his neck. "You are amazing."

He shrugged, blushing a bit. "I know."

--

He arrived back at the bull pen, feeling accomplished. "The recap DiNozzo."

The four were still conversing on what they could do to cheer Abby up, and Gibbs picked up on it.

"She's better now."

McGee shrugged. "But how boss?"

He put his hands up with a puzzled look on his face. "Why is finding a missing Hippo with constipation so difficult for three professional investigators?"

The four smiled in unison, and let out a deep sigh, Abby was going to be just fine.
