Summary: A paradox is any person, thing, or situation exhibiting an apparently contradictory nature. 10Rose.
Disclaimer: For Christmas, I got the Series 3 boxset, the board game, the TARDIS model-making kit, and some of the books. However, I am yet to receive Doctor Who itself.
Author's Note: A little idea I've had for a while, for you like it.
Paradoxpar·a·dox [par-uh-doks
– noun: any person, thing, or situation exhibiting an apparently contradictory nature.
Rose Tyler, the Doctor decided, was a paradox (and no, not the sort that comes about when you go back in time and hold yourself as a baby). She was happy to walk around in an old top and a pair of jeans, but found it absolutely essential to wear her mascara, eyeliner, and maybe a bit of lippie. She was only new at the whole exploring-the-universe thing, but it wasn't uncommon for her to be the one to save the day. She was usually so compassionate and caring, but could rid the world of an enemy if it was necessary. And although she was only 19, she had grown up so much since she'd been travelling with him.
Rose Tyler was a paradox. That was why the Doctor loved her.
The Doctor, Rose Tyler decided, was a paradox. His suit suggested he was quite formal and business-like, but his trainers said that he was ready to run away should he need to. At times he was jumping around like a 6-year-old high on sugar, but other times he looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Sometimes he'd hold her close to him and look at her with absolutely adoration, but other times he was, well, let's just say Rose happened to have seen a particular event in a particular time window. And although he insisted he didn't do domestic, apparently Christmas dinner with her family didn't fall into that category.
The Doctor was a paradox. That was why Rose Tyler loved him.
The pairing of Rose Tyler and the Doctor was a paradox. One was a 19-year-old human shop girl; the other was a 900-year-old time travelling alien. One liked chips; the other liked bananas. One didn't even have A-levels; the other was a genius who had studied at an exclusive Academy. One had a mother, friends and a sort-of boyfriend; the other was the last of their kind.
And yet, when they took each other's hands, they were each filled with an inexplicable warmth. When they kissed, all the troubles of the world seemed to melt away. And when they made love, they felt like they were 2 parts of the same person coming together.
The pairing of Rose Tyler and the Doctor was a paradox. That was why they were so perfect for each other.

P.S. My document manager's been stuffing up lately. I can't make anything italic/bold in it (I've gotta do it in Word). Is anyone else having that problem?
