Chapter 18:The Plan

Over the next few weeks Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Luna, and Neville researched spells and metals, as well as plants and jewels for the amulets. They were hoping to make them as strong and useful as possible. Ron worked mostly on setting up a list of people and their strengths. They decided to split everyone into teams with each team sporting an amulet and set of potions that were most helpful to their position in the field.

They had a group of 10 healers, mostly from the younger years, who would administer potions, heal with spells, learn enough combat to be able to flee for safety, and have amulets that would shield them to allow time to work on those injured. The healers would be ran by Hermione who, despite the will and strength in battle, knew the most about making potions and could make large batches and add strong anti-breakable, anti-summon spells onto the potion bottles.

The next group would belong to Luna. This group mostly consisted of prankster's, none as good as Fred and George of course, even though both men were sneaking into the school regularly to help produce products. This would be the distraction group. Their goal would be to distract and hinder Death Eater's in order to stall for time. Their amulets would protect against just about everything.

Neville and Ron ran the next group together. The group was made up of the best shield casters. All had powerful shields and were best at holding them for long periods of time. Their job would be to help evacuate (Neville) and protect the other groups before, after, and during Death Eater attacks (Ron). Their amulets would protect against unforgivable and other dark spells.

Harry and Ginny were jointly responsible for two separate parts of the next group. Ginny's group would attack from behind and Harry's from the front. These groups were made up of the strongest fighter's. They were fast and could dodge spells better than anyone else; they could almost anticipate their opponent's moves, which made them formidable fighters. Ginny's group would attack from both behind and above, on brooms, and would have portkeys just in case they needed a quick escape, even with anti-portkey wards in place it would just transfer the fighters to certain hiding spots within wards. They were also responsible for taking down any unwanted wards around the battle field set up by the enemy. The amulets held by the group of defenders would only protect against unforgiveable and dark spells, since dodging spells was the preferred.

After this was decided, training became more group focused and yet somehow, Hermione still managed to make sure they each got their homework completed on time and were properly prepared for all exams. The result of this led to the DA being made up of the best and brightest students in the entire school.

One day, a week before Easter break, Harry and Ginny were relaxing in Slytherine's room, Ginny snoring lightly while Harry read a book, when Ron came bursting into the room

"Erg!" He yelled upon seeing Ginny naked, her lower half only covered by a thin sheet. "I'll wait outside," he said looking pointedly at Harry who smirked.

Harry marked his place in the book he'd been reading and got dressed before making his way over to wake up Ginny. He slowly ran his hands up her calves, and then tickled over her thighs. She sighed in her sleep and rolled over onto her side facing him.

"Harry?" she said, softly blinking up at him.

Harry smiled and kissed her briefly. "Ron is outside, he seems like he needs to tell us something. I'll wait for you outside."

She sat up and stretched, "Or we could ignore Ron and you could come back to bed." She said already getting up.

Harry laughed and went out to wait with Ron. "So, did something happen?" he asked.

"Hermione finished the first part of the spell needed for the amulets. She wanted to know when the rush order you placed the other day should be here. She wants to go ahead and set the one's she has." Ron said, flipping through a magazine sitting on a table outside the bedroom.

Ginny opened the bedroom door. "So Ron, what's so important that you felt the need to ruin my beauty sleep!"

"Hermione found the spell needed to add the shield to the amulet. It requires a ritual and someone powerful to cast the spell," Ron deadpanned. "And I never wish to see you even partially nude again, so I think from now on, it's a patronus message to get you to come to us!" He added hastily.

Ginny blushed. "Well, that is a good reason to wake me up" she said ignoring the second part.

Harry laughed and picked Ginny up, spinning her around. She giggled and gave him a kiss as he sat her down. "Tell Hermione we'll be right there" Harry said to Ron staring at Ginny. "And that the order should arrive tomorrow."

Harry caressed Ginny's face as Ron got up and left. He pressed his forehead against hers and said quietly, "It's almost time and I'm so afraid I'm going to lose you."

Ginny smiled and reached up to kiss him. "Together, we can accomplish anything. We're all prepared Harry and the amulets being completed before everyone goes home for break will be perfect." She pulled away, pulling Harry back into the bedroom, "Do you think we have enough to make some for family members also?"

"That's brilliant Ginny. I think we should have plenty, but we need to check out this spell and ritual Hermione's talking about to make sure we can make plenty before break." He picked her up, her legs wrapping around him immediately "but first…"

Ginny squealed as they fell back onto the bed.

Not a terrible amount of action/dialogue in this chapter but I wanted to give you something. This is pretty much setting up everything that happens next. The next chapter will be about the ritual and spell…then only a one or two more before the final battle…the maybe one or two after that to finish the story off. Thanks to all who've been with me even though it's been years since I actually wrote anything on it. Please review…I know there are mistakes, I'm sorry for those; if I ever get the time(energy, and no writer's block), I'll go back and rewrite everything so that it makes more sense and nothing overlaps or repeats and that it actually follows the same story line.
