It was quiet in the Hatake house as Kakashi unconsciously wrapped his arms around his wife's waist and gently pulled her closer. Lightning flashed outside, lighting up the bedroom where the two people slept soundly, lost in slumber.

One minute, the few lights left on in the house, for the children, were on, and the next, they had all flickered and shut off.

Kakashi was in the middle of a particularly funny dream that involved Guy, a dare, and lots of make-up, when the door was flung open and two small children burst in. Both adults immediately sat up in their bed, kunai clutched in their fists, and waited for the drowsiness in their heads to dissipate.

The two children, a little boy and a littler girl, had climbed on the bed, and the boy was clinging to his mother's neck, while the girl was holding her daddy's hand.

"Momma!" the boy wailed, close to tears. "All the lights went out!" The girl nodded in agreement with her older brother.

"Oh, sweetie, it's just a blackout," the woman murmured, cradling the boy. "All the power just went out, but it'll come back on any minute now."

Kakashi grinned. "Yeah don't worry Obito, it'll be fine."

"Can we stay with you until the lights come back?" the little girl, Kawaii, asked, gazing up at her father with big, dark eyes. Even though she wasn't clinging to his neck and crying, Kakashi could see his two-year-old daughter's eyes were full of fear.

Kakashi glanced at his wife. He really hated sharing her, even with his own children. Maybe this was why he had never married and had kids beforeā€¦

She sighed. "Yes, you may, but only until the lights come back. Then, you have to go back to your own rooms."

Kawaii smiled as she curled up next to her father and closed her eyes. Kakashi ruffled her hair absently as his wife persuaded Obito off her neck and between her and Kawaii. The woman then laid her head back down and stared at Kakashi, gently stroking her son's head so as to lull him to sleep. She then mouthed 'I'm sorry' at her husband.

Kakashi grinned as he rested his hand against his daughter's pale pink curls, letting her press her small body into his chest. "You know what this storm reminds me of?" he whispered.

"What?" his wife whispered back, her curiosity piqued.

"Chidori." Kakashi grinned.

"What's chidori?" Kawaii mumbled.

"It's your daddy's super secret move," his wife whispered mysteriously. "They say that he once cut a bolt of lightning in half with it."

"No way," Obito murmured. "You can't cut a bolt of lightning in half with a jutsu."

"You're right Obito." Kakashi was silent for a minute before he said, "I used a sword too."

Obito sat up in bed. "Uh-uh. You didn't cut lightning in half."

"I did too." Kakashi shook his head. "Jeez, my students didn't respect me, and now my own children don't respect me. What is the world coming to when your own children don't respect you?"

"I don't know," his wife replied, her lips quirking slightly at her husband's obvious displeasure.

Kakashi shook his head as he wrapped his arms around Kawaii and Obito and taking his wife's hand in his own. "Kids these days," he murmured. "Good night Sakura."

Sakura smiled as she squeezed her husband's hand. "Good night Kakashi," she whispered.
