Author's Note: Um, this is actually my first Bleach creation. I suppose it's HitsuMatsu-ish. Please be somewhat mild in your flaming of my little excuse for poetry. In addition, I'd also like to note that it has a DiamondDust Rebellion (the new Bleach movie due for Dec. 22) theme in it, but since none of us have ever seen it before, there's no guarantee that Hitsugaya actually makes it to the execution stand.

Enjoy.

And he stands with what's left of his pride, head held high, quietly awaiting death...

Head held high, face devoid of any fear

Don't forget that your excessive pride is the reason

Why you are standing here.

Here in front of the execution stand, quietly awaiting death,

And everyone else is waiting with you, for the souls to descend

And steal your last living breath.

It lingers in my mind, the day you recieved your sentence

Sent me sinking into the darkness,

None of it made sense.

I keep telling myself it couldn't possibly have been you,

The one who betrayed us all, left us hanging

Until your last few days were due.

I wanted to believe, with all of my heart

That it was all a lie, you were innocent,

And you and I would no longer be apart.

Will you remember me, past those steely eyes of teal?

Will you remember your past, and looking back,

Was it all ever even real?

I know for sure I'll remember the image of your face,

On the very day they meant to kill you,

And you'd vanish without a trace.

I look towards your back, it's turned against me,

Tell me, captain, what are you thinking,

What else do you seem to see?

The clock is ticking, slowly counting, the minutes forward on,

The time is nearing for them to claim your life,

And then forevermore you'll be gone.

Goodbye.
