"No, no limits, we'll reach for the skyyyyyyyyyy!" Taptaptap. "No valley too deep, no mountain too hiiiiigh!" Taptaptap.

The voice made Kari groan. Yolei was singing. That meant she was obliterating somebody in DDR.

Kari worked her way through the crowd. And her opponent is... Hawkmon? Poor bird...

Finally, the massacre ended. Yolei shoved her wheezing partner off the dance pad and whirled around. "Next!"

God, she's loud. And obnoxious. Kari rolled her eyes.

"Come on, who's next?"

Sweating like crazy, challenging random people... Showoff.

"You!"

Doesn't even realize she's making a total- Kari blinked. Stared at the finger pointing at her. "Me?"

Yolei smirked. "Why, certainly!"

Just my luck... Kari sighed and stepped onto the pad while Yolei pushed a few buttons. "You know I'm not too good at DDR, so why did-"

"Are you ready?" the machine interrupted her.

Kari sighed and danced, trying to ignore Yolei's superiority. I'll be fine as long as she doesn't-

Yolei started singing.

Dammit. Kari gave Yolei a glare - and froze. She's loud. She's obnoxious. A shiver ran down her spine. She's so damn beautiful when she's dancing. Kari slowed down and finally stopped moving. Why did I never notice this before?

"You okay?"

Kari blinked. "Huh?"

"Song's over," Yolei said, giving Kari an odd look. "You just... spaced out halfway through."

"No... I just..." Just what? Checked out Yolei for a full minute? Kari shook her head. "I just... love watching you dance."

"Well, that's too bad." Yolei smiled. "Because I want you to dance with me."

Kari realized she was blushing and that Yolei could easily see it. But somehow that was okay. "I'd love to," she finally whispered and returned the smile. She knew that neither of them was talking about DDR anymore.
