It's little things that he loves. Rather, little things that make him fall in love with one Sirius Black all over again.
The way Sirius lets his hand touch his hair softly, as if just wanting to feel it. The way he'll sometimes look at Remus and there's that heat and that beauty in those eyes for a moment. But it's a moment that the dank depths of Azkaban don't come back to haunt him.
Remus would go through all the hells in the world to see those eyes light up like they do when certain words fall from his own lips. Dark eyes looking for all the world like he's sixteen all over again and hearing it for the first time from Remus.
Life seems so much easier when Remus is curled up to Sirius' chest, listening to that heartbeat that surrounds him. The scent that is Sirius, the scent that is unequivocably his mate.
When Sirius sits beside of him and they share the morning paper and a cup of tea, Remus has found out that it makes himself love the raven-haired prankster all over again.
Tenderness shining in his eyes, Remus smiles at Sirius in a for-once empty kitchen. The smile is returned and even though it's genuine and the lines of his face are pulled into everything familiar, the dark is in his eyes.
The unescapable dark that threatens to kidnap his Sirius everyday. But Remus has become quite adept at battling things of shadow, especially when it comes from one's ownself.
"Love you," he says, pressing his lips to the corner of Sirius' mouth, feeling rather than seeing it turn up. When he pulls back and settles back again, he can see that the dark has been chased back for now.
"Love you too, Moony."
And just like that; Remus falls in love all over again.
