I don't own Zelda. OKAY? OKAY!?
---------------------------------------------------
Tears well up in my crimson eyes. The boy in front of me is dying and I can't help him. Death, death that is not meant to be...
"No, no," I say. "It can't end this way. It... Just can't."
It has no effect. Lying on the cold stone floor, the Hero of Winds is losing consciousness, life is slipping away from him, he will die soon...
Why? Why couldn't I have saved him? Is it because I am too weak, too small? My powers are nothing yet, not even enough to seal a cut, let alone save a life...
All I can do is sit here and pray, pray that some Healing Fairy will pop up out of nowhere. His skin is cold now, his eyelids are drooping, life is not his much longer.
I can't help it anymore, warm tears spill from my eyes, splotching his tunic. Here, in the Earth Temple, the Hero of Winds dies trying to protect a Sage. A faint smile plays on his ever-paling lips, I smile back. "Hang in there," I say, but we both know it's too late, too late for the Hero of Winds...
He closes his eyes and I hug him as tight as I can. I hear no heartbeat and know the time has come. Tears flow like a river as I sob quietly into the body, wishing there was something more I could have done.
Is this how it ends?
