Blood.

It floated over the city, through the hundreds of cropses.

Like small rivers they raced down the streets and into small seas wherever an bomb made a hole in the ground.

Seras looked over it all in horror.

Why did it have to be like this?

She sighed deeply.

"Why can´t we all just get along..." Seras muttered to herself.

"Because their hearts are filled with joy and anger, and together it makes the deadly combination which leads to an eagerly fighting instinct. Millons of years passed and still the Human race didnt learn anything, no matter what they say. Child, these killing grounds are as close as possible to the place called ´Hell´."

Seras twiched at the deep voice just behind her and turned, to see the face of the madman she feared most.

"F-f-father Anderson?"

The man did not look down to her, but continued to stare to the south, in the direction of the harbor.

"Every Generation of Humans lives through at least one war. No human doesnt know the things to be feared in this war, and not a single soul fears it now. This war cannot be ended peacefully. No war can be ended like that. Because they always have a reason to start fighting, and they always just want the others dead, so they dont have to fight on. They fight, because they don´t want to fight. Its an absurd combination of fears and courage, of strength and weakness. This just shows us how pathatic we all are."

Seras listened to every word of the tall man before her.

"I believe your Master told you once. This cannot be changed. Humans want to fight. All of them want to fight at least once in their life, no matter how much they hate to. Its not a bad thing, if its without weapons. Even our greatest granfathers, the first monkeys millons of years ago, fought over the swamps and forests they wanted to live in. Its just natural. But this... is not a war anymore. This, is mass murdering madness."

Seras didnt know what to say. She wanted to ask this wise man something, but he answered almost everything before she even questioned it.

"Why.. didnt you attack me until now?" Seras finally said.

Anderson lifted his glasses and looked down to the small women.

"Because i dont need to."

This final sentence made Seras confused, but clear in her thoughts.

Anderson, who knew what was going to happen in a few minutes, lifted his cross and kissed it, then sayed an little prayer.

"May God be mercyful, child, when the day of final judgement comes for you."

Seras gave it a small nod, before an painfully intense wave of dark enegy floated over the city.

The Vampire Alucard had returned.
