"I'm leaving." Before either of them could turn their heads the Uchiha was long gone. Team seven had just barely finished their wannabe mission when their teammate had left, leaving Sakura and Naruto to stand by the bridge, alone. Naruto being the smooth type of guy he was scrambled to his pink haired teammate and long time crush, but before he could ask her anything she said something that made him stop.
He looked back to where the Uchiha had stood with them. Sakura had seemed so sad, and for the first time in a long time, he felt for her in a way that made him clench his fists. She was his comrade, and he would do what he could.
Even if it did mean helping that Uchiha-bastard.
The next day as they sat sweaty and tired after a long mission, Naruto watched as the other boy began his routine of departing quickly. But before he could leave Naruto called out to him, wearing his trademark grin he taunted the Uchiha. Determined to get a rise from him he didn't charge at the boy, and sure enough it worked. They fought for what seemed like hours, Sakura cheering each of them on. Losing, Naruto conceded rather reluctantly to buying his team dinner.
Ramen, of course.
The night had worn on and Naruto couldn't help but feel happy, him and his teammates—his friends were bonding.
"Do you think Sasuke-kun has anyone waiting for him?" Sakura muttered, staring at the spot where the Uchiha had been.
That night it hadn't mattered. They had forgotten about their empty homes.
He'd have to try it again tomorrow, Naruto thought, riling Sasuke into a furious coil was better than the ramen!
