We don't own anything but the fic and anything original, some people in Japan owns Digimon, lucky people. Sorry for the wait, RockBane here and I kind of didn't get inspired. It's only when Fire-chan and I made connect with each other on Feb 9th, 2014 that we started on this chapter.

Angel Of the Hazard

Chapter Nine:

They had ended up in Guilmon's shed, not that the rookie actually used it often now. Especially with the Portal to the Digital world that opened there randomly, Yamaki he heard was planning to put machines here soon to monitor it just in case. The red eyed boy peered at his older brother who while no longer holding him down, was keeping a tight grip on his wrist. Not that the gender bender had any thoughts of escaping, as they said the jib was up, but hopefully not yet to the credits.

It had taking him a few minutes to convince Tai to go somewhere more private, since the position Takato had been in hasn't been one a police officer would take well.

Thankfully there partners had caught up with them, so the two humans and three Digimon were all there.

Sighing Takato sat down on a rock, and Tai finally let him go to sit down himself. The two were quiet for a bit, neither of them knowing what to say after all these years.

"I missed you," Takato finally said.

"I missed you a lot too Kari... Takato?" Tai asked not knowing what name to say, Takato smiled a bit.

"Call me Takato, I've been stuck male for the last few years," Takato said embarrassed.

"How did this happen?" Tai asked bewildered looking up and down his rather male sister.

"You remember that day, the attack that hit me that seemed to do nothing and so we went home. This is what it did, i didn't know at first till I woke up and went to the bathroom," Takato said, and blushed heavily at the memory, no little girl wanted to see male parts and he'd just left the boys have cooties other then the Digidestined stage.

"Ah..." Tai said scratching his nose, realizing that would freak anyone out.

"I shouldn't have fled, I should have stayed at least said something. But I was scared, what if mama and papa rejected me, what if the others did... it was just too much," Takato cried out, and felt tears slip down his face, suddenly he felt warm familiar arms surround him like they hadn't for years, and he felt himself breaking down against his brother.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." Takato cried and Tai rubbed his back and whispered comforting words.

"I'm glad your okay Takato, i just wish it didn't take so long to find you," Tai whispered, Takato sniffled into his chest.

"What's worse is that now my body keeps bouncing back and forth between genders with no control. Its nice to be female again, but it's weird. And I can't just vanish as Takato, we help keep the wild Digimon under control. Why can't i just be able to control my gender flipping," Takato whispered out.

"We'll find a way, I promise. But we have to tell the others Takato, everyone's been frantic," Tai told him, Takato nodded against his chest.

"Alright, but we really should get back to the bakery. My room should be private enough now," Takato said, and the two siblings slowly untangled and fixed themselves up from the rebonding.

"Okay... maybe we should go to Rika's instead," Takato said in a softer voice, started Tai looked at Takato and his jaw dropped. Takato... no Kari now stood there, definitely female.

"Um... okay," he said still shocked.

OoOoO

Having her hood up, hands stuffed into her pockets and Kari hunches slightly as they walks over to Rika's house. She's rather nervous, after all, she's introducing her brother to someone who she knows will take one look at her and be rather amused.

Their partners following behind, Guilmon cheerfully answering Agumon's questions regarding what it's like to live at a bakery. She's fairly sure that Gatomon and Tai were only half listening as she notices a faraway look in Tai's eyes the few times she glances at her older brother's direction.

"I lived at the park in that shed and now live at the bakery." Guilmon replies proudly. "I dug it so I am small in it."

Kari feels like palming her face as Agumon asks, "I would have thought you'd live with Ka... your partner."

"Takatomon's parents didn't want Takatomon to have a pet so Henry showed us the shed." Guilmon replies in a chipper tone.

"Henry is another DigiDestine?" Agumon asks.

"Tamer! Terriermon's Tamer." Guilmon replies. "What's a DigiDestine?" Kari doesn't have to look to know that Guilmon has tilted his head in a cute manner on asking that question.

"Ah... that's a good question. I know both Tai and Kar... your partner use to have a Tag and Crest but they were destroyed." Agumon explains to the much larger rookie.

"Oh!" And once more Kari bites down a chuckle as Guilmon adds a second later, "What is a Crest?"

"A Crest was something that represented something in the DigiDestine." Agumon answers. "Tai's Crest was Courage and Kari's was Light."

"So does this mean they aren't DigiDestine now that they don't have a Tag or Crest?" Guilmon asks.

"Ah... you know, I don't really know. I mean, TK found his Digi Egg of Hope and there was a Digi Egg of Light next to it for Kari..." Agumon admits and she sighs as they come to the last set of lights.

"Hey Renamon!" Guilmon cheerfully calls out and it takes Kari, plus a startled Tai and Gatomon, a few seconds to find which roof said rookie is standing upon.

"Is she a friend of yours?" Tai asks and Kari replies, "She's Rika's partner."

"I take it that it happened again, Takato?" Renamon asks while Agumon complains about the size of rookie Digimon in this district.

Lowering the hood, she replies, "Yea... Ah, Renamon, I'd like you to meet my brother, Tai and his partner Agumon."

She glances towards Gatomon and continues, "And this is Gatomon, my partner from before I was adopted." Before I was Takato.

"Hi, Renamon." Tai greets awkwardly while Gatomon nods a greeting.

"Well, Rika isn't home and likely won't be home until later tonight." Renamon says after hopping down from the roof, very gracefully Kari might add.

"Gone shopping with her Mom or Grandmother?" Kari asks curious, even if she's a bit disappointed.

"Both." Renamon replies and Kari lets out a sigh.

"This isn't good, people might notice something off if they see me female. I'm wearing my usual clothing and i look enough like myself in either gender for people to catch on," Kari said nibbling her lower lip in worry.

"Is there any place we can hang about that's not the shed till you switch back?" tai asked frowning, while the shed was nice and private it wasn't the most comfortable for humans.

"Not really, I..." Kari said voice trailing off as her voice shifted from male to female.

"Or you can just switch over now," mused Gatomon, seeing the rather subtle shift now was getting less and less strange.

"I just wish i could control it," Takato sighed.

OoOoO

Rika paused in trying to pawn dresses back to her mother; she wasn't getting more to wear while her mother was in a cute phase.

She knew this feeling, and she knew it was her mother's fault since she'd dragged her grandmother and herself out shopping quite early today.

She'd missed out a chance to tease Goggle-Head on something, that and get out of shopping.

"For the last time mom, I don't wear dresses."

OoOoO

Takato sighed in relief as he closed his bedroom door, the knob clicking as locked. Sighing he fell onto hsi bed, Tai amused sat down in a bean bag chair while three Digimon wandered over to a few toys in a corner.

"There nice, I can see they've been good parents to you," Tai said, thinking over the cheerful welcome Takato's adoptive parents had given them.

"They can't have children, and I was a dream come true. I don't know what to do Tai, I miss our parents but I don't know how they would react to my... gender illness? I know that my adoptive parents would. But if i became female full time i would have to leave, the Government would think I'd been kidnapped or something. Sometimes I wish there were two of me," Takato grumbled, his eyes were partly closed and he was feeling exhausted from his crying earlier.

"Don't make wished like that Takato, we'll work something out," Tai promised.

"Alright Tai," Takato mumbled, then fell deep asleep.

OoOoO

In the Digital world two small white creatures paused, one looked excited at the thought of making two of something.

Suddenly the other DigiGnome wacked the other and shook its head, some wishes you just don't grant.

OoOoO

Tai was about to leave when he realized he forgot to say goodbye to Takato's parents, he winced a bit since he knew Takato was right. They were the younger boy's parents, and they seemed to take everything in stride unlike his parents who he admitted were high strung. Well, other then his mother's cooking and baking. He was pretty sure Kari had only made it through childhood because he had pretty much raised her, and that was not a fun thought. A bad thought, since the amount of time he looked after Kari when he was much too young was nearing childhood neglect.

He pushed those thoughts away, he'd think those thoughts through when he wasn't feeling so confused over his sister/brother.

"Ah Tai, did Takato help you like you needed?" the pretty woman asked, she was shorter then his mother and bit chubbier but she had such a here feeling to her.

"Yeah, he did. Thank you, and I'll stop by tomorrow. For now I have to head to my hotel," Tai responded, a thoughtful look came to her face.

"How long are you paid up to, you could always stay here? We do have a guest room upstairs, and you and Takato made friends so nicely," she smiled, she might be a strict woman for her daydreaming boy but she loved him deeply.

"Tonight is the last night I'm paid for at the moment, I won't be going home for a few more days. I was expecting to put more money down tomorrow money," Tai said feeling warm that this sweet woman would invite him inside after barely meeting him.

"Honey, your fifteen right?" she asked, and he nodded. "You're mature for your age, but a young man your age shouldn't be staying alone. Do your parents know where you are?" she asked in concern.

"Ah..." he said trailing off; he hadn't told them in fact. But they'd have to be home first, and they were both away on business.

"no, there both away on business. I didn't run away if that's what you're asking," he told her, she stared at him.

"I expect you here tomorrow morning then, and don't bother buying those expensive breakfasts they have, I'll have food ready for you and Agumon when you get here," she told him, and there was knowledge that there was a no... Well no responses aloud here.

"Yes Ma'am," he said feeling awed a bit.

"Take this and be careful Tai," she told him passing him in a bag, grinning he slipped from the bakery to head to the hotel.

"Oh... Its bread in the bag," Agumon said sniffing the air, Tai grinned and once in the room opened the bag.

Then he had to laugh.

"It's bread! And shaped like my head," Agumon said happily.

"Mmm, peanut butter," Tai said happily biting into one.

It was only later as he fell asleep that he realized he'd forgotten to turn his phone back on, oh well he'd deal with the others later.

OoOoO

TK signs onto the chat room that the DigiDestine use, Izzy and Ken went to great length to secure it against hackers so they can have their privacy when they need to text each other viva their computers.

[Thrall'sHope] is online.

[Love'sRest]: Hey TK!

[TechnoBug]: Have you heard from Tai?

[Thrall'sHope]: Hey you guys, and no, I haven't

[Goggles=Leader]: Dude, you don't think he really went to look for her do you?

[TechnoBug]: He's been waiting for a lead for years. he likely left his phone off and forgot to turn it on.

[WWolfSinger] is online.

[Thrall'sHope]: Hey Matt, how's your day?

[WWolfSinger]: Hey you guys and same old same old

[Love'sRest]: We're worried about Tai

[Goggles=Leader]: We're worried he went off on a wild goose chase after Kari

[Love'sRest]: Given nobody is home to answer the phone, it's clear he did

[Thrall'sHope]: I hope he's alright.

[TechnoBug]: Has anyone seen Gatomon, lately?

[Thrall'sHope]: No I haven't.

[Love'sRest]: No

[WWolfSinger]: That's strange, I thought she'd at least visit you by now TK...

[Goggles=Leader]: I wonder where she could be?

[TechnoBuy]: Maybe he went to West Shinjuku?

[Thrall'sHope]: Might have went to talk with Takato, he's the one who bears a family resemblance to Tai and Kari.

[Goggles=Leader]: Oh, I remember him! Nice head wear but not as cool as my Goggles

[TechnoBug]: Takato wasn't it? Huh, well let me see if I can't find anything on him...

[Thrall'sHope]: Well, I know he's partners with a Digimon, a rather large red one called Guilmon.

[WWolfSinger]: This Takato's Destined?

[Thrall'sHope]: Well, I guess so, I mean, a lot more people have been partnering up with Digimon.

[Goggles=Leader]: Cool, how big is his partner?

[Thrall'sHope]: Fairly big, could be mistaken for a champion

[Love'sRest]: What does Takato look like, I mean, I've seen that photo that Davis has of TK and that brunette.

[TechnoBug]: This is Takato. :picture:

TK feels his face heating up as he recalls the position they were in at school when they first met. This picture seems to be enlarged and likely it's not just Takato in it, for now, they have a clear image of just Takato standing there with parts of others along the sides of the enlarged shot.

[Lover'sRest]: Ok that's a little unnerving...

[Goggles=Leader]: So he's suppose to look like Kari huh?

[WWolfSinger]: Do you have a picture of Takato's partner?

[TechnoBug]: Oh, yea, here: :picture:

TK's a little too occupied by studying the picture of Takato and Guilmon to re-read Davis' message. He recalls meeting the big rookie. Takatomon. He recalls Guilmon calling Takato.

[Goggles=Leader]: Wow he's big!

[Lover'sRest]: Are we sure he isn't a champion?

"What's wrong TK?" Patamon asks, having waken up and comes flying over.

"It's just a photo of Takato and then him and his partner." The blond tells his orange partner.

"That Digimon stole my ears!" Patamon exclaims after a second, causing him to blink and look at Guilmon.

Sure enough, the ears on this Digimon did seem to mimic Patamon's ears only they were too small to act like wings. He smiles a bit as Patamon huffs about mimics and ear thieves.

[TechnoBug]: I found out that Takato's family owns and runs a bakery. I have a phone number we can call to see if Tai's been around.

[Love'sRest]: Well, someone's going to have to phone them.

[Thrall'sHope]: If you send me the number, I'll phone them before I go to school.

[WWolfSinger]: Give me the address and I'll head over if they have seen Tai. I mean, we still have a few days before school resumes.

[Love'sRest]: I'm actually got something going on with Mimi and Yolei tomorrow so I won't be able to join you.

[TechnoBug]: And I'm spending the day with my mom, we're going shopping. So, here's the number for the bakery and the address.

TK writes both down; after all, he wouldn't mind seeing Takato again. The other teen was fairly easy to get along with plus, given the sudden interest in Digimon Card Game, he could ask him for tips.

Or maybe it's because you just want to spend more time with someone who looks like Kari? It's been how many years since you've spent time with your best friend? A little voice remarks and he just sighs.

"It's funny how often we seemed to run into Kari... It's kind of like destiny wants to reunion the group again." Patamon remarks, almost as if reading TK's mind, although given that the orange rookie is reading the various posts in the chat room it could be that he just gets a feel of the conversation, after all, at the moment more of their group have signed on into the chat and exchanging rumors and the like.

One of which has to do with Kari going out with another girl... TK just blinks at that, it's one of Davis' posts.

[Goggles=Leader]: Yea, she was with this red hair girl who KO'd Tai

"Red haired teen..." TK mutters before typing a question.

[Thrall'sHope]: Did you get a good look at this red haired girl's top?

Funny, TK muses to himself, that one of Takato's friends sports red hair and is a teenage girl.

Maybe it was just happenstance but then again, what if it weren't?

To be continued . . .
