Hey all! This is my first time writing fanfiction, so I hope you'll go easy on me, and give me some constructive comments. This is a short little fic that came to mind while listening to the song "Fidelity" by Regina Spektor. Its funny the things that will inspire us. I know there isn't a huge NickXFranziska fanbase, but I think this story is sufficiently implicit where it can be enjoyed even if you aren't a fan of the pairing.

I do not own Phoenix Wright or Franziska von Karma!

Franziska was steaming. That foolishly foolish fool of a man! How dare that Phoenix Wright defeat HER, Franziska Von Karma, Queen of Everything!!! She thrashed her whip around wildly as she stalked down the halls of the courthouse, terrorizing a few hapless legal aides as she went. As she came down the stairs from the upper courtroom, her vision blinded by sheer fury, she happened to catch the heel of her shoe with her whip on a particularly violent swing, sending her off balance and into the air.

As she fell, the one thought that rang through Franziska's brain was, This is just wonderful. I am going to die and it is all that foolish fool Phoenix Wright's fault. I shall grind him to dust under my heel.

However, just at that moment, the subject of Franziska's rage happened to be ascending the same flight of stairs in the other direction. Deftly, Phoenix caught her by the back, in a very dramatic sort of pose. Their faces were inches from each other.

Realization of what had just happened washed over Franziska. I was saved…by that man. That foolish excuse for a fool saved me. "I think I'd rather have died," she said pointedly. Phoenix pulled her up, still not saying anything. They looked at each other on the stairs for a moment, then Phoenix resumed his climb and Franziska her descent.

Phoenix turned to watch his rival's head move out of sight and smiled. "You're welcome," he said quietly, and turned away.

Franziska kept on moving until she was sure she was out of Phoenix's sight, then turned around, and crept up a few stairs until the back of the defense attorney could be seen retreating down the hall. "Foolish fool," she smirked.
