A/N:Because, I mean. Really. You guys saw the same episode I did, right? With the look he gave Maya. You saw it. You know you did. It was nuts. I flailed at my screen. My brain went haywire, I listened to some music, and there you go, instafic. Probably my last before I disappear and become a slave to NaNoWriMo, so…here goes nothing!

angel

The devotion already shines bright in her eyes. Bright and dark like nights in the city, with no stars in the sky. She says his name with such reverence in her roughened voice: Gabriel, Gabriel, the corners of her pretty mouth turning upwards.

Angelis what she calls him. A guardian angel who lost his wings and drank in dust and came to them in the middle of the desert, as such angels often do.

She smiles at him and trusts him and asks questions about what they should do next. He is her compass and her guardian and she relies so much on him, while in the backseat Alejandro broods in shadows, too proud to admit defeat, too angry to see the position that they're in.

And all the while, Gabriel just wonders how she works, if her pulse feels like clockwork underneath her pretty skin.

He wonders if she'll bleed black if he bites down on her mouth, if he runs his finger along her forehead.

He wonders how she'd like to be torn to pieces at his hands. He wonders how she'd like to be burnt to ashes, burnt like the witch she's afraid she is, with the smoke coiling up like her blood on the ground.

And in his rough voice Alejandro will cry out, cry out for her: my Maya lies in ashes, and I'll never see my sister again, she lies in ashes, and I'll never see her again, again, again.

And he'll only smile like the evil angel he is, and rip him to shreds too. He'll take what rightfully belongs to him.

And he'll make them pay, every last one of them, everyone who's been happy to forget he even existed.

Gabriel Gray

No. Sylar.

It is Sylar now, it will always be Sylar from now on.

And he will have his revenge. He shall smite them and plunge them into the fire.

And he will seize the future for his own.

He will become powerful in his new world, formidable as any angel, feared as any god.

He could not ask for more.

He will not settle for less.
