"Kiba?" Ino blinked in surprise at seeing the dog nin in her family's flower shop.
"Oh, hi Ino." Kiba suddenly became nervous
"Why are you here?" not once had Ino imagined Kiba Inuzuka in a flower shop
He swallowed and quickly said
"No reason. It's really stupid that I am. See you around." Kiba was about to leave when Ino figured it out
"Oh my gosh! Kiba, you have a crush on somebody!" Ino squeeled
and Kiba instantly froze
"Of course not!" Kiba's voice was way too defensive
and Ino didn't appear to be listening
"And you were going to get her flowers. How cute! (I can't believe I just used that word in association with Kiba!) But you know you're going about this all wrong?"
"I am?" Kiba asked without thinking
Ino nodded
"A boy shouldn't come on to a girl too strong until he finds out if she's interested." Ino told him firmly
and Kiba hung his head
"That's the problem. She already likes somebody else."
"Are they a couple?"
"No."
"Then there's still time. But you have to get a move on if you're going to snatch her before he does. I'll even tell you all you need to know. Come back tommorrow."
Kiba was about to object, until he thought about how a girl was bound to be an expert with them. So he nodded his head and left.
"I can't beleive I said I'd help him, but Kiba really needs it if he's going to win Hinata over from Naruto." Ino thought after he'd left

"Now, Kiba. Start off by doing things like holding her hand and giving her random compliments." Ino instructed
"So I just say stuff like, for example, your hair looks perfect today, Ino?"
"Thank you, Kiba. You're right." Ino smiled proudly as she touched her hair
"Okay, random compliments are easy."
"Um, acctually." Ino interrupted "I meant you were right about my hair. But yeah, you seem to have compliments down, too."
much to Kiba's horror he realized that he had expected this from her.
"Yeah, I just say stuff like, your hair is as shiny as a freshly washed puppy coat." Kiba nodded, then noticed the weird look Ino was giving him
"On second thought the random compliments need work." Ino smiled nervously
After Ino had drilled exact phrases to use into Kiba they moved on.
"Don't just tell her you want to go on a date. Ask her to do something with you that you know she'll enjoy. Like if she likes shopping take her shopping." Ino advised
""But I hate shopping!" Kiba whinned
Ino gave him a stern look and placed her hands on her hips.
"Kiba, if you want to date this girl sacrifices must be made."
Kiba groaned
"Or you could just start off with something small. Go for a moonlight stroll or take her to get a bite to eat. Just the two of you."
Kiba stopped groaning. That sounded much better. Ino rolled her eyes.
"Alright, now we move on to first date etiquette."

Shikamaru was comming to pick up Ino for training and saw Kiba running out of her flower shop waving goodbye.
"What was that about?" Shikamaru asked when he came in
"Kiba's ready to confess his love to Hinata."
"Huh?" The Nara kid raised an eyebrow
"Well, technically he didn't say it was Hinata, but it's so obvious. He came in here yesterday wanting to buy flowers for her, but chickened out. Apparently she likes someone else, but they're not a couple, yet. Lucky for him I've got plenty of relationship advice to give." Ino went on and on proving that somehow everything sounds shallow when it comes from her mouth
Shikamaru had already figured out something she hadn't
"Ino, I could be wrong,"
Ino indicated that Shikamaru had her undivided attention.
"But I don't think he came in here to buy flowers."
