Respect
Disclaimer: This is a purely fan-made piece that is using the world and characters from Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto and Rumiko Takasahashi's Inu Yasha and is made entirely for enjoyment. No financial gain has been made in the making of this piece
Summery: Sesshomaru doesn't give out his respect easily and Naruto knows this. Written for SnapeSlut
Author's Note: First cross-over I have ever attempted and I've never seen Inu Yasha. Probable out-of-characterness and absolutely no cookies at all.
Constructive Criticism is always welcomed

Naruto knew that Sesshomaru's respect didn't come easily in the best of situations and was almost never bestowed on a human—even if that human was the vessel of the Nine-Tails. The dog demon simply didn't believe that most people—if not all people—deserved it.
So when the lord had shown a little bit of lustful interest in Naruto, the blond ninja put his foot down. He was Uzumaki Naruto, the next Hokage-to-be! He wasn't going to be in a relationship of any sort unless he could be treated as an equal. He'd spent enough time in his childhood being the doormat to others so he wasn't going to put up with it any more.
Sesshomaru had smiled coldly at Naruto and put a sword to his throat.
Naruto first made about a thousand clones, changed them all using his sexy-no-jutsu, and tried to Rasengan the heck out of the demon while his clones launched themselves at silver-haired man, giggling girlishly.
The ensuing fight ripped out the landscape and Naruto—dirty, sweaty, and wondering if being less-than-equals in a relationship with someone with THAT much stamina was truly a bad thing—realised that he had fought Sesshomaru to a standstill.
Naruto loudly proclaimed that the lord would HAVE to recognise his talents now. It was a great moment, Naruto thought, even if ever other word was broken up by his panting.
Sesshomaru had scoffed slightly and swung the pelt over his shoulder into Naruto's face.
Naruto, in retaliation, attempted to use 1,000 years of pain.
They fought, both having a point to prove and they found themselves in the second deadlock of the afternoon; Sesshomaru's sword was poised above Naruto's heart and one of Naruto's clones had a kunai to Sesshomaru's throat.
And in that moment, in the back of those amber eyes, Naruto saw a flicker of respect before the face was impassive once again.
