Disclaimer: If you actually think I own Inuyasha then you're probably too stupid to sue me.
Foolish.
His eyes were fixed on her mouth. The curve of her upper lip, its rose flushed color. Had it always been so beautiful? Before, her lips had always just been a pretty piece in the grander mosaic that was Rin. But now...Why now? Now was not the time to notice.
She looked peaceful, something almost too pure to touch. Sesshoumaru grazed her soft lower lip with his knuckle, and found that it held a certain warmth that he knew shouldn't have surprised him. Rin was always warm. Always happy. Always waiting for him. Always.
An onslaught of memories overcame the demon, leaving him breathless. A smiling face, a musical voice, and a soft hand in his own. So many memories, and yet so very many missing. So many that should have been. So many he knew could have been, too.
A horrible reality began to set in. His stomach churned. What was this ache?
Sesshoumaru's clawed fingers traced her cheek, her chin, then back to her lips again. What would it have been like to kiss her? He had often wondered, but never tried. It was not that he had been afraid of her rejection, Rin would never do that. Not to him. No, it had been his all consuming pride. A pride that was now replaced by a new feeling that he numbly recognized as regret, and a painful desire to right what he now knew was wrong.
He wanted to fix her. He wanted the place and time to be right again. He wanted it to be that morning, yesterday, a year ago.
He wanted to kiss her.
Sesshoumaru's head descended, and in his mind he could see Rin's eyes fill up with surprise and a blush on her cheeks he never had gotten to see enough of. He kissed her softly, with a tenderness he never knew he had, and a sweetness reserved only for her. The perfect first kiss she had never gotten to experience.
When he finally pulled back, he almost expected to find her magnificent brown eyes staring back at him – vibrant and alive again. A foolish thought, he knew. As foolish as wasting a kiss on a dead girl.
Sooo. Yup. Shes dead...mhm. I was trying to write another chapter for my other story but I couldn't so...I decided to write a oneshot to get me in a better writing mood. I started out trying to make something more light hearted... but yeah. You can see how well that went.
I may change the title later and continue this as a series of SessRin kiss oneshots, but I'm not sure. Anyway, if you're interested it would be worth putting it on your update list just in case. XD I'm not expecting much of a response for this bad boy, but if you have a review I'll take it! Constructive criticism is fine. New chapter of Healing You coming soonish.
