Yellow roses
When captain Jack Harkness dated Gwen Cooper he brought her yellow roses. Gwen didn't know why she just thought they were his favourite.
She would wake up with the yellow petals strewn over the bed. She would find a single rose on her desk and when he proposed he presented her a dozen of yellow roses.
Their wedding was small. Owen gave Gwen away, Tosh was her maid of honour, the doctor was jack's best man and Ianto, Martha and Donna were witnesses. She wore a simple knee length dress with yellow roses in her hair and a small bouquet.
Jack and Gwen had two children one called john after the doctor and the other Galifrey Rose after two great beauties in the doctor's life. After each birth jack gave Gwen more yellow roses.
When Gwen died her headstone was shaped in an angel. The engraving read; here lies Gwyneth cooper-Harkness, mother, daughter, wife and friend. She was an angel and a yellow rose.
Every year jack would lay yellow roses on her grave. When jack watched every member of his team and family die. He buried them around Gwen. And scattered the yellow roses.
He soon left earth with his great great great great great great great great great granddaughter, Galifrey Smith. She looked exactly like Gwen apart from her eyes. They were green like her fathers (a policeman who died).
On the anniversary of Gwen's death jack dropped a yellow rose out of an airlock or into an ocean. Galifrey left when she met a nice young man. But jack kept a track on her.
He lay there dying in the arms of Galifrey's great great granddaughter. Who happened to be a cat nun. His friends the doctor and Martha was their physically. And mentally was Rose Tyler. Spiritually he could feel his family and team.
They built a monument for him in new New York. It read; the face of boe, a great face who loved and was loved in return. He loved the angel of torchwood and her yellow roses.
For centuries two bouquets would lay by this monument. One of yellow roses with the card simply read love the doctor. And another of red roses with a card saying bad wolf.
Jack preferred the yellow roses.
