Just a note: You're bound to find this section weaved into my story I Wouldn't Want You to Want to be Wanted by Me eventually but because I've already written it I thought I might just put it up now. It's rather cute.

"Remus!" Tonks called excitedly from upstairs. "Remus, come quick! I think Teddy's finally chosen his colour!"

Remus stopped the letter he was writing and scooted out of the kitchen.

"It's not pink is it?" he called as he climbed the stairs. "Because I swear, I've got nothing against it or anything - especially on you Dora, I love it - but I really think he would have a hard time going through school with bright pink hair is all."

Teddy had been changing his hair colour for five days straight from the moment he was born. He hadn't been able to settle on any colour for more than three minutes at a time, mimicking the colour of everything he saw, however, the day before Teddy managed to keep a shade of pink almost identical to his mother's for three hours.

"Just come look!" called Tonks.

Remus hurried into the room where Tonks was standing over a crib. He approached his wife and put his arm around her as he gazed down at his son. Teddy lay with a cute smile on his face under a tuft of bright turquoise hair. Remus smiled at his son.

"You know, Ted, that's a brilliant choice," Remus said to him, "It's the exact same colour your mother had the day I met her."

He ruffled his son's hair, Teddy giggled happily. He had the same heart shaped face as his mother's but he could see that Teddy's eyes were a dark chestnut colour, the same as his father's. His eyes were about the only thing Teddy hadn't changed.

"You remember?" asked Tonks in amazement, looking at Remus with twinkling eyes.

"Remember?" laughed Remus, still smiling at his son. "How could I forget? You practically fell into my arms. I remember thinking two things: 'Oh my, please stay that way forever' and 'what bizarre hair'."

Tonks laughed. When she laughed it was like music.

"Both managed to stay that way," said Remus, now turning to gaze into her twinkling eyes. "Thankfully."

Tonks beamed at him. Remus kissed her gently and put his arm around her shoulders and the pair of them stood gazing lovingly at their beautiful son.

Life was perfect.
