Old Jack is Dead

This song is a twisted little idea I came up with upon listening to The Cat is Dead; a tune from an abandoned horror musical called Little Demons written by Danny Elfman. A fellow TNBC fan and friend of mine introduced me to the few released songs, and I suddenly had a strange image of Lock, Shock, and Barrel singing a similiar melody. Remembering my favorite deleted scene from the movie (in which the trio, after hearing of Jack's demise, rises and sings, 'Pile of dust, pile of dust! Skeleton Jack is a pile of dust!'), this little ditty was born. You can find the song on Youtube if you search for 'Little Demons'; it's a sinisterly catchy tune. X3

L, S, and B;

Three kids are we

And we're as wicked as can be!

We live in the old treehouse

With the Oogie Boogie man

We love to play our tricks (so true)!

We do whatever we can do

To please him and appease him in just any way we can

We cause trouble to get our kicks

The townspeople don't like our tricks

They send their mean old Pumpkin King

To scold us for our fun

He thinks that he's so big and great

But Oogie's planning; we can't wait

Until we knock Jack off his throne someday!

Someday! Someday-dee-dae-dee-dae-dee-dae-dee-dae-dee-dae-dee-dae!

Old Jack is dead!

Old Jack is dead!

They shot 'im right upside the head

He flew up high on Christmas night

His sleigh all red with rust

He had a gleeful bony smile

And laughed out loud; but all the while

They fired off their cannons and the boneman fell to dust

What to his friends did Oogie do?

He made some snake-and-spider stew

The ragdoll and the sandman

Went into the bloody blend

And then we went and took the town

The new king Oogie we did crown

For poor old Jack had finally met his end!

His end! His end-dee-dend-dee-dend-dee-dend-dee-dend-dee-dend-dee-dend!

Old Jack is dead!

Old Jack is dead!

The ragdoll's stitched-up heart, it bled

Before she went into the stew with poor ol' Sandy Claws

The stew was yummy as can be

It's Oogie's special recipe

A better special brew, oh, there can never ever be!

The boneman thought he'd get it done

He had himself his Christmas fun

But then came the BANG of a gun

And no more Pumpkin King!

The ragdoll Sally gave a cry

As Oogie Boogie rolled the die

And sent her off with her dear Jack to be!

To be! To be-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee!

Old Jack is dead!

Old Jack is dead!

They shot 'im right upside the head

He flew up high on Christmas night

His sleigh all red with rust

He had a gleeful bony smile

And laughed out loud; but all the while

They fired off their cannons and the boneman fell to dust

What to his friends did Oogie do?

He made some snake-and-spider stew

The ragdoll and the sandman

Went into the bloody blend

And then we went and took the town

The new king Oogie we did crown

For poor old Jack had finally met his end!

His end! His end-dee-dend-dee-dend-dee-dend-dee-dend-dee-dend-dee-dend!
