Hi everyone. So, since I last updated there has been news that Digimon Adventure is getting a reboot in April in Japan. From what comments I've read it seems quite a few people aren't too happy we've got another series with the adventure characters. But I've got to say I'm excited they are bringing them back. Adventure has and always will be my favourite season so any chance we get to see the characters again I'm up for. It will be good to see how it plays out as it's going to be set in 2020 too.

Back to the story, I was looking back on some of the first 10 or so chapters and I've noticed how different my writing was back then. I've been thinking for a while of when I post the final chapter I'll go back and touch up on some of those chapters. They'll stay more or less the same as I won't change any major bits, it'll just be to touch them up with better detail etc.

Also, I haven't forgotten about my other stories. I will try and update And Baby Makes Five next, but I always seem to fall back into working on 2.5 XD

Digimon 2.5 "Adventure 03"

Episode 57: 'Tactical Tactics'

.:Fuji TV Station, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

"Most of the city still remains on lockdown. Police have now closed Rainbow Bridge after it sustained damage from the monster attack in the bay. More monsters have been sighted across the Odaiba and Minato area and warnings have been put in place advising people to avoid the affected areas as the authorities try to deal with these attacks."

Mika sighed as she watched the news station that was currently on. She was standing in one of the corridors on one of the upper floors. Growing tired of waiting in Matt's office, and from the food and drink in the vending machine, she had decided to grab herself a drink from the canteen two floors down. As she had passed one of TV screens, she had paused for a few moments to watch the current news story that was airing. It featured live footage and photos of the ongoing battle between Grandracmon and Daemon, as well as sightings of the Nightmare Six.

When Matt had left with the girls he had told her to stay inside his office where it would be safe. But that had been hours ago. The last time she had spoken to Davis was when he had called her to say Dan was safe and that they were with everybody else. But since then she hadn't heard anything from anyone, and she was starting to worry again…

"You know, Matt's got a much bigger television in his office." A voice joked.

Mika gasped and quickly turned to see Davis standing at the opposite end of the corridor with Ken, Kari, Mimi, Yolei and their partners. "Davis!" she dropped her juice bottle and ran straight into his arms. "I was starting to worry something had happened. I-" she then stopped upon realising something wasn't right. Her son wasn't there. "Wait-where's Dan?" she immediately demanded.

Davis smiled, trying to play it cool, but it came off somewhat nervous. "He's uh… fine. He's with his friends."

Mika frowned. "Davis, you never were very good at trying to fool me." She said.

"Don't worry Mika, he's okay. The children are taking care of something for us." Ken spoke up.

The brown haired woman shifted her suspicious look to and from her husband and Ken. "I don't think I like the sound of that giving the current situation."

"Relax Mi; the kids can totally take care of it." Davis tried to reassure her before he walked past her heading for the vending machine close by.

As he walked by, Mika caught sight of Unimon, Meramon and Monzaemon a little further down the corridor. She yelped in fright, jumping back a little as Meramon innocently gave her a little wave.

"It's okay Mika," Mimi smiled placing a hand on her shoulder. "They're our friends. They're here to help us."

"We just stopped by to grab some snacks for the Digimon to give them an energy boost." Yolei added.

"Oh…" Mika said, aiming the sarcastic tone at her husband as she turned to face him. "So you didn't come here to see if your wife was okay?"

Davis shot a look over at Yolei as he stood up after retrieving the snack from the vending machine. "Of course that's the reason I'm here." He protested.

"ChaosGallantmon is nearby so we were heading in this direction anyway." Veemon added.

"That's not helping Veemon!" the maroon haired man exclaimed.

Just then there was a faint sound of an explosion outside, catching Kari's attention. She walked over to the window and looked out to see Grandracmon and Daemon were still firing attacks at each other, again and again. "This fight has been going on for a long time…" she commented. "I hope they don't get bored and decide to join forces."

Gatomon jumped up onto the window ledge just beside her partner. "I don't think that will happen. Those two are as stubborn as each other. Neither of them will want to back down. They'll both want to win."

Mimi also made her way over to the window, watching the fight. "Let's just hope they don't spot us when we go to take care of ChaosGallantmon."

.:Tokyo Bay, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

Grandracmon and Daemon both soared through the air towards each other, preparing to attack as they did. Before they made contact, they fired their attacks. Both blasts exploded against the other, forcing the two mega Digimon to retreat back.

Daemon remained in the air whilst Grandracmon landed heavily on the ice in the middle of the bay, skidding backwards to a stop. "Chaos Flame!" he fired two streams of purple flames from the mouths either side of his waist, directing them up towards Daemon who was floating above, to which the demon lord wrapped his large wings around his body, shielding himself from the attack.

Once it had ceased, Daemon unfolded his wings and raised his arm. Pointing his palm outwards, he then began to perform a magical spell across the bay that began to melt most of the ice, leaving only parts of it near to the shore and around the edges of the islands.

Grandracmon was caught off guard as the ice underneath his feet suddenly disappeared and he plunged into the water, sinking underneath. A few moments later he resurfaced, immediately ascending up into the air. "You think you can beat me with water?" He spat.

Daemon chuckled. "No but I know those tiny wings can't hold that mass of yours up for very long." He mocked, earning a snarl from the beast Digimon. "You're exposed over water."

Grandracmon glared at him as he knew Daemon was right, but he wasn't about to admit it aloud. His wings weren't strong enough to keep him up for very long in the air and now the ice had gone his advantages were now limited whilst he was out over the water. "Then perhaps we should move this fight onto more solid ground…" he said. He then fired a quick but powerful blast, catching Daemon off guard.

It hit Daemon, and he was thrown out of the sky and clear across the water. He crashed into shipping port on the opposite side of the bay on the Minato side of Tokyo, destroying a couple of metal shipping containers as he landed…

.:Tokyo Tower, Minato, Tokyo:.

The three remaining members of the Nightmare Six were still spread out across the city of Tokyo on the hunt for the DigiDestined. ChaosGallantmon was near to the telecom centre. He flew through the large square gap in the building and over the top of the nearby train station, startling people into a panic on the ground. Across the bay, AxeKnightmon dropped down from the air, landing in the middle of a street and just missing crushing a couple of cars that drove by. He heard the sound of screeching tires behind him and turned to see another car had suddenly braked upon the sight of him. The driver managed to scramble out of his car in time before AxeKnightmon fired a blast from the end of his twin spear, setting the car alight.

Over by Tokyo Tower, Tactimon swung his sword forcefully clearing an abandoned car from his path as he made his way down the street that passed by the foot of tower. He watched as groups of people ran for cover screaming at the sight of him. He swung his sword again, this time destroying an abandoned food cart that was near to the side entrance of the tower. There was a visible trail of destruction left behind him as he had taking a shot at everything near to him, regardless if it had been blocking his path or not.

Just to the side of the entrance there was a tree that had been decorated with some pretty lanterns for a festival that had taken place. Tactimon grunted at the sight of it and raised his sword, firing a single blast and destroying it. "I'm growing tired of this game now," he muttered to himself. He had been searching for hours and had not found any clues as to where the DigiDestined could be hiding. He then glanced up and gazed up at the tower above him. "It would be far easier if we just destroyed this pathetic place…" with his sword still raised, he pointed it upwards aiming it at the tower and prepared to fire a more powerful blast…

But before he did, he paused as he thought he heard something rustling just behind him on the other side of the road. He turned his head and stared for a few moments. Across the road were some buildings and in between the buildings and sidewalk were some trees and bushes. He narrowed his eyes curiously as he waited for any sudden movements, until a small pink metal ball was thrown from within the bushes. It bounced a couple of times on the ground before coming to a stop just in front of him. Before he had chance to even think, the small bomb suddenly exploded and covered the entire area in a thick pink mist…

"Sub Zero Ice Punch!"

"Argh!" Tactimon grunted as he felt his legs suddenly become cold. He tried to move, but ice had formed around them all the way up to his knees.

"Bone Strike!"

Tactimon then felt a swift hard blow to the side of the head, and then a blow against the back of his shoulder with the same weapon. He was then hurled repeatedly in the face with what felt like snowballs. One hit him right in his eye, temporally blinding him. Tactimon snarled before striking his sword into the ground in between his feet causing a tiny earthquake which then shattered the ice around his legs. He then swung his sword a full 360 degrees releasing a shockwave that cleared the pink mist. Once the area was clear again, he slowly turned to look behind him, whilst wiping the snow from his eye to see Frigimon and Ogremon standing a few hundred yards from him with Piximon floating between them. Tactimon chuckled as he lowered his sword. "Was that your best effort?" he teased them. "I see the DigiDestined have been busy whilst in hiding recruiting their own little army."

"Our army's actually bigger than you think," Sora's voice spoke up.

Ogremon and Frigimon stepped aside to reveal Sora, Izzy and Joe standing behind them.

Just then the ground shuddered a little, and Tactimon turned half way to see Zudomon, Garudamon and MegaKabuterimon now standing on the opposite side. He chuckled somewhat. "I was hoping you would have finally shown your faces to surrender but by the looks of it you have come to fight." He then cast another glance over the six Digimon either side of him and chuckled some more. "But… from what I can see it won't be much of a fight. Daring to face me with no mega level in your ranks?"

"We have some tricks up our sleeve," Joe replied calmly.

Tactimon scoffed. "Are you referring to the pink fur ball?" he mocked.

"I may be small but my powers pack quite a punch yup, yup!" Piximon warned.

"That sounds very optimistic of you. But I'm afraid I won't be holding back. Our lord has grown tired of your game of hide and seek and has now ordered us to destroy you all, including anyone who aids you." He explained as he raised his sword. "So be prepared to feel the full force of my power."

Piximon raised his spear, floating a little higher in the air. "And I hope you're prepared to feel the full force of ours…Pixi Portal!" he waved his spear and a large portal opened up above the demon man Digimon.

Tactimon looked up to see BlackWarGreymon drop down on top of him from within it, after being transported from where he had been waiting a few blocks away. Tactimon tried to raise his sword above his head to block him but BlackWarGreymon was too quick and tackled him into a scuffle on the ground where they immediately engaged into combat.

BlackWarGreymon was quick up onto his feet and began swiping and driving his claws forward, pushing Tactimon back as he blocked each one with his sword.

"Vulcan's Hammer!"

Tactimon was about to swing his sword at BlackWarGreymon when Zudomon's hammer came hurtling towards him and smacked his hand knocking his sword out of his grasp. Tactimon cried out in pain as his sword was flung high up in the air, becoming lodged in one of the metal structures of Tokyo Tower above them. He grunted before he flipped the guns on his back and aimed them directly at Zudomon.

"Sub Zero Ice Punch!" Frigimon charged and fired a blast of cold energy from his fist. It struck the guns on Tactimon's back freezing the barrels. He then fired another two blasts which in turn then froze his right leg and left fist.

Tactimon grunted as he struggled to break the ice. "It'll take more than a little ice to stop me…" with all his strength he managed to break free from the ice around his fist and leg. He then charged up his guns and fired a stray blast shattering the last remaining ice.

BlackWarGreymon tried to take advantage of Tactimon's distraction and charged forward. "Black Tornado!" Before he had chance to begin his spinning attack, Tactimon aimed his guns directly at him and fired his Primary Tactic attack releasing an almighty blast. The blast struck BlackWarGreymon throwing him back.

Tactimon then leapt up into the air and soared up to retrieve his sword.

MegaKabuterimon and Garudamon gave chase as they also ascended into the air. "Horn Buster!" Izzy's partner was the first to attack by firing a large blast of lightning from his horn.

"Wing Blade!"

Tactimon reached his weapon and with one quick pull he was able to dislodge it from the tower. He then spun around and easily dealt with the two on coming attacks by firing his own blast of energy from the tip of his sword which swallowed up MegaKabuterimon's and then slicing his blade through Garudamon's.

People who were still inside the tower watched on in amazement from the windows of the observation deck as Tactimon ascended into view.

Ogremon jumped up and began to climb the tower by leaping up using the metal structure. Just as he was level with Tactimon he leapt up off the tower and into mid air. "Pummel Whack!"

Tactimon swung his sword slicing through the attack before he then lunged forward and dealt a powerful punch to Ogremon who was now defenceless in the air.

Ogremon was winded by the impact and thrown back, crashing through the window of the observation deck, causing the people inside to split in panic as glass shattered everywhere. Ogremon groaned as he slumped to the floor. He slowly pushed himself up to see the humans nervously keeping their distance from him. Huffing he simply picked up his club and bolted across the deck, throwing himself out of the broken window. "Bone Club!"

Tactimon had just swatted Piximon away with the back of his hand before he turned and looked up to see Ogremon descending upon him once more. He simply moved to the side and allowed Ogremon to fall right past him and into Garudamon who was attempting to attack from below, sending both of them crashing to the ground, close to where Izzy, Joe and Sora were standing. Tactimon chuckled to himself as he looked down at the two fallen Digimon below. But whilst his attention was on them, Zudomon's hammer came hurtling up from below out of his sight and struck him against the side of his head knocking him off balance.

BlackWarGreymon soared up high into the air, just above Tactimon. "Terra Destroyer!" he formed his huge energy attack before unleashing it.

Tactimon only had time to regain his balance before the attack hit him with full force. It blasted him away from Tokyo Tower, over the rooftops of a couple of buildings before he clipped the side of one building before flipping out of control and crashing down into a high school's track and field area leaving a trail of dust in his path…

.:Tokyo Bay, Minato, Tokyo:.

Daemon groaned as he pushed himself up out of the rubble that covered him, recovering from his fall. As he got to his feet, he felt the ground shudder a little. He turned to see Grandracmon had landed on the edge of the shipping port.

Grandracmon began to approach him, chuckling a little as he observed how beaten and bruised Daemon was becoming. "You should just give up on this game of yours Daemon." He said. "You cannot beat me. You will lose."

"You still think very highly of yourself. I suspect it's that arrogance that cost you against Azulongmon." Daemon replied sharply.

"Azulongmon got lucky," Grandracmon snapped. "He could not defeat me which is why he transformed me into Myotismon. Once I deal with you and the DigiDestined, he won't be so lucky."

"Like I said before, I wouldn't underestimate the DigiDestined if I were you." Daemon warned. "You may think they are hiding from you but my guess is they will be devising a plan. I don't think that portal to the Dark Ocean opened accidently…"

Grandracmon tensed up. "What?"

"How do you think I got here? The only way I could escape from the Dark Ocean was if the portal reopened, and I doubt the DigiDestined opened it just for fun knowing there would be a chance they would face me again. I couldn't return to the Dark Area as once you cross over from the Dark Ocean there is no way back. It would have been extremely difficult to return to the Dark Area and find that weak spot in the barrier again. I knew I couldn't return until my unfinished business was complete and I had to bide my time in the Dark Ocean until the portal reopened…" Daemon then paused, smiling a little at the look on Grandracmon's face. "The DigiDestined opened that portal for a reason, and it wasn't so they could challenge me again."

Grandracmon remained silent as he continued to stare at Daemon, clenching his fists.

"It seems as I've touched a nerve." Daemon said with a sly smile.

Without warning Grandracmon fired two powerful blasts from the mouths on his waist and blasted Daemon further back into the port. As Daemon crashed into more metal containers, Grandracmon glided up into the air a little and then fired a continuous round of blasts directly at where Daemon had fallen. A couple of the containers exploded from the impact of the blasts and a thick plume of smoke rose into the air.

Once everything had settle, Daemon blasted his way out from underneath one of the containers before he floated up a little into the air. His cloak was now battered and torn badly. "You may have your secrets and mysteries Grandracmon but I suspect I now know why the DigiDestined opened that portal to the Dark Ocean. There have always been rumours that the almighty King of Vampire Digimon has an undying body, which would confirm why the DigiDestined struggled to defeat you as Myotismon."

Grandracmon growled, narrowing his eyes. "Congratulations Daemon, you've worked out my secret." He said sharply. "But that doesn't help you. Now you know why you cannot win this fight. You cannot defeat me."

Daemon chuckled. "I wouldn't be so sure on that. There must be something deep in the Dark Area that is the key to your existence. If the DigiDestined have opened a portal to the Dark Ocean then they must be on their way into the Dark Area to find it, and all I have to do is wait until they do…"

"You won't last that long." Grandracmon spat before he leapt up into the air and threw himself at the demon Digimon.

Daemon simply smiled before he wrapped his wings around his body again, shielding himself and forming a protective barrier, which knocked Grandracmon back.

Grandracmon managed to land on his feet, just at the edge of the port stopping himself from falling back into the water. He looked up to see Daemon's body was now surrounded by a dark purple aura. The aura grew stronger and it looked as if Daemon was changing.

There was a quick flash as the aura exploded and Daemon spread his wings out, revealing he had now transformed into his beast form, revealing his true appearance. His cloak had now vanished showing off his body which was mostly covered in dark red fur. He had large clawed hands and feet, with his left arm longer and the claws much bigger than the right. His face was now exposed, showing off his long sharp fangs and his narrow eyes.

Daemon smiled menacingly down at beast Digimon below. "Your time is slowly ticking away Grandracmon." he then lunged down, tackling him as the fight continued once more…

.:SeiSoku High School, Minato, Tokyo:.

Tactimon groaned as he slowly got to his feet, recovering from the blast that had struck him. He bent down and picked up his sword that lay by his feet before he heard something behind him. He turned around to see BlackWarGreymon had now landed on the opposite end of the track and field track to where he was standing. Tactimon growled, his eyes narrowing on the Digimon that had sent him flying.

BlackWarGreymon was soon joined by the others, as MegaKabuterimon and Garudamon, who had been carrying the others in the palm of her hand, descended down and landed either side of him. Zudomon then appeared, swinging his hammer and tearing through the wall of netting at the edge of the track, joining the group.

Tactimon slowly pointed his sword at the group. "Don't think just because you caught me off guard you have the upper hand here," he warned. His sword began to glow as it gathered energy. "Ultimate Tactic!" he charged forward gaining speed before he leapt up into the air and prepared to slash his sword downwards upon them.

The group split, with Izzy, Sora and Joe running for cover at the edge of the field. Tactimon's sword hit the ground and the energy built up exploded, leaving a huge hole in the middle of the track.

Tactimon pulled his sword out from the ground before swiftly turning to face Frigimon and Ogremon who were both charging towards him. He stabbed his sword into the ground once generating a shockwave underneath. It travelled towards the two oncoming Digimon tearing up the ground as it went. Once it reached Frigimon and Ogremon the force knocked them off balance, throwing them to the ground either side.

"Vulcan's Hammer!"

Tactimon then turned his attention to Zudomon. He raised his sword and blocked the hammer that was inches from striking his head. "Primary Tactic!" Tactimon flipped the guns on his back and blasted Zudomon from point blank range. He then aimed his guns at BlackWarGreymon, also taking him out with one powerful blast.

Garudamon and MegaKabuterimon tried an aerial attack, but Tactimon swung his sword releasing a powerful shockwave which forced them back.

"Now I'm not feeling so confident…" Joe admitted as he watched MegaKabuterimon and Garudamon hit the ground.

"Pixie Bomb!"

Tactimon simply smiled as he raised his hand and easily caught the bomb before throwing it back with much more force.

Piximon yelped as the bomb exploded showering him in a pink mist.

"I think I'll take care of the pink fluff ball first…" Tactimon grinned to himself as he pointed his sword up at the tiny ultimate Digimon.

Frigimon, who was just sitting up from being knocked to the ground moments ago, gasped and quickly fired a blast of cold air. "Sub Zero Ice Punch!"

The blast struck Tactimon's hand that was holding the sword and he gasped in shock as his hand suddenly froze solid, making him unable to unleash his attack. He felt two more blasts of cold air hit his feet, freezing him on the spot.

"Now's your chance guys!" Sora shouted to their partners.

"Horn Buster!"

"Wing Blade!"

"Terror Destroyer!"

"Vulcan's Hammer!"

"Pixie Bomb!"

"Sub Zero Ice Punch!"

"Pummel Whack!"

All the Digimon unleashed their attacks at once from different directions. Tactimon growled under his breath as he watched them home in closer and closer. He grunted as he mustered up all his strength trying to free himself from the ice…. The attacks then hit, exploding at once and filling most of the field in a plume of smoke. The smoke gradually cleared and Sora, Izzy and Joe all looked up to see Tactimon had now vanished.

"Did we get him?" Izzy said, a small smile forming.

"Think again, DigiDestined."

Everyone looked up to see Tactimon was now standing on top of the high school building. Joe sighed a little defeated. "That's a no then…"

"There's not a scratch on him…" Garudamon said in amazement.

Tactimon chuckled. "If that was your best shot I have nothing to worry about… Let's see how you handle this…" he teased. He stabbed his sword into the roof of the building twice.

For a second nothing seemed to happen, but then the ground slowly began to tremble. The tremors increased until the ground began to split and a hundred warriors burst out from underneath surrounding the Digimon. The warriors looked similar to Tactimon, wielding swords and wearing similar armour, but they were smaller in size.

"Uhh… this causes a problem," Frigimon commented as he looked around at them closing in. "Can we fight them all at once?"

Ogremon huffed. "It'll take more than a group of soldiers to stop me!" he declared before he charged forward. He swung his club knocking down three of the warriors at once. Another one tried to swing its sword, but Ogremon spun round and knocked it away with his club. Before he knew it he was overwhelmed by them, constantly swinging his club in order to defend himself from their swords. His assault on them caused the rest of the warriors to raise their swords and ascend on the Digimon.

Tactimon smiled to himself as he watched the Digimon being inundated with countless warriors, being forced to do nothing but defend themselves. "This ought to tire them out," he muttered happily.

Piximon swung his spear, swatting away one of the warriors. He tried to perform his own attack but again was forced to defend himself as another warrior jumped at him from behind. He wasn't so lucky the third time as one of the warriors managed to strike him with their sword, hitting him into the ground.

"Hey, pick on someone your own size." Zudomon grunted before he slammed his hammer down on top of the warrior, destroying him.

"Horn Buster!" MegaKabuterimon fired his electrical blast straight through a line of ten warriors, electrocuting them and causing them to explode.

Garudamon punched one of the warriors before flattening another with her foot. She glanced up to see Tactimon smiling to himself as he watched on. Garudamon growled before spreading her wings and flying up to where he was still standing on top of the school.

"Sub Zero Ice Punch!" Frigimon dealt punch after punch at on coming warriors freezing them instantly and setting up BlackWarGreymon to charge forward and slice his claws through them one by one, shattering them into ice crystals.

Tactimon's attention was diverted from the ongoing battle below when Garudamon appeared, landing on the opposite side end of the roof.

"Why don't you fight us yourself you coward." Garudamon growled.

Tactimon immediately frowned at the insult, narrowing his eyes at the ultimate Digimon. "As you wish." He simply said. He then grasped his sword and lunged forward, forcing Garudamon into combat. The two Digimon swiped and slashed at each other, with Garudamon doing most of the defending as Tactimon immediately overpowered her. The demon man Digimon then jumped up and swung his sword fiercely across Garudamon's face. He then quickly flipped the guns on his back and fired, knocking Garudamon over.

"Garudamon!" Sora cried out as she watched her partner fall.

Tactimon landed back onto the roof, lowering his sword momentarily. He smiled as he looked down at Garudamon who was winded, and temporally down on her back. "That didn't take long," he amused himself. He then raised his sword once more, preparing to thrust it down into Garudamon's chest…

MegaKabuterimon smacked away two oncoming warriors with the back of his claw before he looked up, noticing Garudamon was in trouble. "Horn Buster!"

The single blast of energy hit Tactimon, sending a current of electricity through his body. He yelped in pain and lost his grip on his sword from the shock. The sword dropped off the edge of the roof and fell down landing on the edge of the field. Tactimon gasped under his breath and stepped onto the edge of the roof about to jump down to retrieve his weapon, but all he could do was then watch Zudomon's hammer come crashing down on top of it, shattering it to pieces. "No!"

As his sword and its power had now been destroyed, the remaining warriors slowly vanished in a mist of data. Ogremon flinched as a warrior was about to thrust its sword down into his chest, but just before it made contact it disappeared.

Izzy smiled. "Prodigious! His attacking ability has lowered dramatically now he is without his sword. We should have the advantage now."

"I wouldn't get your hopes too high on that theory DigiDestined," Tactimon spat. "My power still outmatches yours even without my sword." He boasted. He then jumped off the roof and landed heavily on the ground below. "Primary Tactic!" he quickly charged up his guns before shooting off countless rounds of energy blasts across the field, not really taking care with his aim and causing the Digimon to scattered.

"Pummel Whack!" Ogremon tried to cancel out one of Tactimon's attack with his own, but the blast from Tactimon's gun tore right through his and knocked him to the ground.

Sora, Izzy and Joe were also forced to split to avoid being hit by a stray shot.

Frigimon ran to the left before ducking out of the way of one of the blasts which struck part of the metal fencing just behind him. "Sub Zero Ice Punch!"

Tactimon grunted as he felt a hit. He then realised one of his guns had been disabled yet again by Frigimon's ice attack. He swiftly fired up the gun and blasted the ice off the barrel before turning to directly face the champion Digimon. "You're starting to annoy me…" he threatened, preparing to fire. Just before he was able to release his attack, BlackWarGreymon glided across the field and struck him, knocking his aim off Frigimon. Tactimon then immediately turned his attention to the mega Digimon. "Perhaps I'll start with you instead!" he exclaimed before he began firing freely.

BlackWarGreymon jumped back, missing a shot that hit the ground, before he leapt up missing another. He landed on the roof of the school but was forced to move again as another shot hit the building. He soared through the air as Tactimon desperately continued to fire in hope of striking him. BlackWarGreymon levelled up before he swooped down. "Black Tornado!" he began to spin vigorously as he built up speed, with shots from Tactimon's guns ricocheting off him. He slammed into Tactimon with full force, throwing the demon man Digimon back off the field and into the side of the school. BlackWarGreymon then jumped back, skidding across the grass, stopping just beside Piximon. "Piximon, I need to get behind him so I can attack." He said.

"Leave it to me," Piximon happily responded.

Garudamon landed back down on the ground next to Sora, as the others watched and waited. The smoke from the impact gradually cleared, revealing Tactimon emerging from some of the debris.

He was covered in dust, and his armour was a little battered. He growled, his glare fixed firmly on BlackWarGreymon as he straightened his stance. "You're making me angry… Primary Tactic!" He supercharged his guns which began to glow brightly before he fired an almighty blast that thundered across the field.

BlackWarGreymon moved forward, staying in the path of the oncoming attack. He gained speed, sprinting across the field as the DigiDestined watched on in alarm. In a flash, the attack exploded seemingly on contact and once the smoke from the impact cleared, they saw that BlackWarGreymon was nowhere to be seen.

Sora gasped, as Izzy and Joe also looked on in horror. "Oh no… BlackWarGreymon…"

Tactimon slowly smiled sinisterly. "Now… who's next?" he smirked to the remaining Digimon…

But suddenly from behind him, another one of Piximon's portals opened up and BlackWarGreymon came flying through with his claws ready.

Tactimon gasped as he suddenly felt his body tense up with pain. He looked down to see BlackWarGreymon had dealt a blow straight through his chest from behind.

"I think you'll find it's you," BlackWarGreymon said. He then withdrew his claw quickly, leaving Tactimon paralyzed from the shock.

"N-No… I can't be… beaten b-by Digimon like you!" Tactimon managed to gasp out.

"You may have been stronger but sometimes brains win over brawn…" Zudomon teased. "Vulcan's Hammer!" He threw his hammer like a boomerang, aiming for the hole in Tactimon's chest. The hammer spun through, igniting a mini blast of electricity as it passed.

Tactimon resigned to his fate, as the hammer had caused his body to slowly disintegrate away from his chest outwards. "You may have won this fight DigiDestined… but be prepared… when the time comes for you to face Lord Grandracmon; you won't be so lucky…" he managed to say before he completely disappeared.

Garudamon, Zudomon and MegaKabuterimon de-digivolved back into their rookie forms. "You had us worried there BlackWarGreymon," Biyomon said as she rejoined Sora's side.

"Yeah, we thought you were a goner." Tentomon added.

"It was all part of the plan." BlackWarGreymon simply replied.

"Like you said Gomamon; sometimes its brains over brawn. Yup, yup!" Piximon added.

.:No. 6 Battery Island, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

Whamon slowly emerged from underneath the water squeezing through a gap in the ice, causing parts of it to crack slightly. He carefully looked around to make sure it was safe. "Okay, quickly now. Before they see us." He instructed before he opened his mouth and the DigiDestined children, their partners and Wizardmon hurried out from inside and onto the ledge of the battery island.

"Thanks Whamon." MJ said quietly once James and Katie had made it onto the ledge and the large Digimon closed his mouth.

"Good luck," Whamon replied before he disappeared underneath the water.

The kids soon heard the sounds of the continuing battle between Grandracmon and Daemon. Suddenly a stray blast struck the side of the island close to where the kids were causing them to flinch as chunks of rocks were blasted everywhere.

Once the blast had subsided, Wizardmon straightened up and looked to his left to see a pile of rubble just ahead. He followed the trail of debris up to see a large hole in the side of the castle's wall. "C'mon, this way." He said, making his way along the ledge.

The others quickly followed, and they began to climb up the rubble and into the castle. MJ was the last to climb up, and when she placed her foot on the last rock it dislodged. She jumped through the hole in the wall and watched as a few more rocks tumbled down and hit the ice below. She froze for a moment, hoping the disturbance in the rubble hadn't alerted the two Digimon outside…

"This is where Myotismon transformed into Grandracmon…" Dan said as he walked ahead a few steps, looking around the castle's main room.

"It sure is a mess in here." James commented as he observed the damage that had occurred during the fight previously.

Stacey looked around, noting the slight similarities the castle had to the one Myotismon had in the Digital World at the foot of Thunder Mountain. The similarities would come in useful if they were to find Wisemon, but it also brought back some unpleasant memories.

"So, where do we start looking?" MJ asked as she gazed around the large room before she turned to her cousin.

Stacey was unable to break away from her current thoughts as she cast her mind back to her time spent in the Digital World. "I never saw Wisemon whilst I was there…" she admitted. "I didn't even hear anyone speak of him. If Wisemon was there all that time he must have been confined to Myotismon's private room, and I only went in there once when I went to steal back the Port Stone… all I remember about that room was there was an open book on a small table in the corner."

"Wait!" Dan exclaimed, catching everyone's attention. "I remember seeing a book. It was in this room; right over there-" he turned and pointed to the opposite side of the room, but he stopped himself when he noticed the book had now gone. All that was left was the remains of the small table it had been upon.

"So… Wisemon's a book?" Tricia asked curiously.

Veemon shook his head. "No, he's a Digimon alright. He wears a dark red cloak with a hood over his head. All you can see of his face is his yellow eyes."

"Gatomon was able to tear a page from that book which had the prophecy on." Wizardmon added.

"Yeah, and it was Wisemon who reminded Grandracmon of the prophecy." Dan said.

"So there must be a connection to Wisemon and that book then," Jonathon thought aloud. "Perhaps it could be the source of his power?"

"So if we destroy the book we destroy Wisemon?" Palmon suggested.

"That could be a possibility." Wizardmon said. "But I have a strange feeling it won't be as easy as that."

"Well it shouldn't be too hard to find that book," Dan said. "I doubt Grandracmon's a book worm with a library stashed away somewhere."

Just then, the entire castle shook as another blast from the battle outside hit the island. A few loose stones from above fell down almost hitting Margaret and Gatomon.

"C'mon, let's find this creepy Digimon before this place ends up coming down on top of us." Gatomon said.

"Agreed," MJ nodded. She then looked to her cousin once more. "Well Stacey, lead the way." She added with a smile.

Stacey blinked a little in surprise at first to see the rest of the group's attention was on her. She had never been looked upon to lead before. That job was usually down to Dawn. "Okay…" she began as she started to think her way around the castle. "Myotismon always had his private room in one of the tallest room in one of the towers… if Wisemon spent most of his time in that room my guess is he is probably there now." She turned her head and pointed over to the opposite corner of the room where a set of steps led up to a passageway. "That way should lead us up there."

As the children and their partners set off towards the steps, James looked around a little cautiously. "Are you sure we're the only ones in here besides Wisemon? It seems a little strange Grandracmon would leave his castle unguarded."

"Positive," Jonathon replied. "My father did a sweep of the castle for any other Digimon signals. All he was able to detect was Wisemon's."

"I still say we should be on our guard at all times in case we walk into any traps," Wizardmon advised.

Stacey led the group up the steps and into the passageway, leaving the main room behind. It was a little dark and narrow and seemed to stretch the entire length of the castle. She paused for a moment as she briefly visualized the similar passageway in Myotismon's castle, and if correct it should lead them to the spiral steps that would take them up into the south west tower.

As they continued along, Wizardmon cast a glance at the Ishida girl at the front of the group. "How come she knows so much about this castle?" he asked quietly to Margaret who was walking beside him.

"…It's a long story," Margaret replied hesitantly. "Probably one Stacey doesn't want to hear right now."

At the back of the group, MJ was walking along just behind James, Fernanda and Katie with Patamon resting on her head. She looked up at one of the small windows above them as a shadow passed by over her, and she caught a quick glance of Daemon outside as he soared past. "It's a little scary to think we're so close to them right now…" she thought aloud as she moved a little closer to the wall to avoid walking through the light that was shining through the window and onto the floor. As she passed the window, she then stopped and turned to look behind her.

"What's wrong?" Patamon asked, glancing down at his partner.

MJ paused for a moment as she looked down the passageway from where they had come from. "… I thought I heard something…" she said quietly. "Maybe it was just a sound from outside." She added. She then turned back to see the others were a little further ahead. "Hey guys-" just as she was about to call out for them to wait up, a section of the wall suddenly rotated blocking their path and pushed them through the gap and onto the other side before the wall returned to its original place.

"Yeah MJ?" Fernanda turned to look behind her after hearing MJ's voice. But she then stopped upon seeing the Takaishi girl was no longer behind them. "MJ? … Guys, MJ's gone!" she gasped, alerting everyone else.

"But she was there just a moment ago…" Armadillomon said, equally bewildered.

"MJ?" Margaret called worriedly as she squeezed through between Dan and Veemon. "Where did she go?"

Katie followed her brother as he walked back a few steps to inspect the area where MJ had last been. "What happened?"

"Did she trigger a trap?" Wormmon suggested from his position on James' shoulder.

Jonathon quickly unzipped the small backpack he had been carrying and pulled out the small tablet his father had given him. He loaded up a map of the bay on screen and zoomed in on the battery island where it was currently displaying their locations. "Look," he said pressing his finger on MJ's yellow signal. "There she is. She must be on the other side of that wall."

Dan looked over the Izumi boy's shoulder. "Huh? How did she get there?"

Suddenly, the passageway shuddered and out of nowhere a section of stone wall came slamming down through the ceiling above separating James, Fernanda and Katie from the others. The rest of the group remained still, stunned at what had just happened as they stared at the wall now facing them.

"What's going on?" SnowAgumon exclaimed.

"I think Wisemon knows we are here…" Wizardmon said worriedly.

Upstairs in one of the towers, Wisemon was inside his book. He was sat cross legged levitating with his two space-time stones floating in front of him. In one of the stones was an image of Wizardmon with the kids whilst the other showed James, Katie and Fernanda and the opposite side of the wall. He then flicked his hand which then spun the stone, changing the image from Wizardmon to MJ and Patamon who were now in a completely different passageway.

"That's right Wizardmon," Wisemon spoke softly to himself. "Did you really think you could sneak in here and catch me off guard? Lord Grandracmon and the Nightmare Six may have toyed with you but now it's my time to have some fun…"
