Diclaimer: I don't own Scott, Alex, Christopher, or Katherine Ann Summers, Lizzie is mine.
"Scott, leave your little sister alone."
"But she hit me!" four year old Scott Summer screamed poking Lizzie again.
"Scott, listen to your mother and leave Elizabeth alone. She probably hit you for a good reason."
"But Dad!"
"C'mere," Chris said picking up his oldest son and sitting him on his lap. "I'm gonna tell you a story."
"I wanna ear oo!" two-year old Alex screamed crawling over to his father.
"Alright, Alex, here, sit next to Scott."
"Is this story gonna be about pirates?" Scott asked. Pirates were his latest favorite thing. He even had an eye patch and red bandana.
"Yay irates" Alex agreed causing Major Christopher Summers to laugh.
"Then pirates it shall be."
"Upid pirats," Lizzie muttered rolling her green eyes.
"Here, Lizzie, why don't you help me make a quilt for the baby?" Katherine Anne offered holding up several pieces of material. Lizzie seemed to think about it for a moment and then ran over to her mother.
"Make blue!" she ordered trying to ignore the story her father was telling her brothers.
"Blue?"
"Blue cause boys like blue." Lizzie nodded and stuck a strand of her strawberry blond hair into her small mouth.
"And why are you so sure this baby's gonnna be a boy?"
"Because," Lizzie answered handing her mother a piece of blue fabric. She really was smarter than most the three year olds in the neighborhood.
"And then the pirates buried their treasure to be found another day," Chris finished and looked at his now sleeping sons.
"Here, you want me to put them to bed?" Katherine asked from where she was sitting rocking Lizzie in her arms.
"No, you stay there dear. You really shouldn't be lifting anything." Chris said carrying the sleeping boys to their room while Lizzie finally fell asleep in her mother's arms.
