Lily and James

Disclamer: I do not own Harry Potter. If I did, I wouldn't be sitting here in my room typing this on a really old computer... I'd be relaxing at my summer home, surfing the web on my brand new laptop. 'Cause If I owned HP I wouldn't need to write fanfictions, I could just write a book about it... ;-) wink

"Hey Lily!" James called down the hall, running to catch up with the red-head.

"Yes?" Lily asked when he'd reached her. She silently wished that he would ask her to the Halloween ball that night. Ever since the end of sixth year, she'd begun to see him in a new light and she soon realized that she had fallen madly in love with him. He was so handsome, and kind, and loyal. He would give up everything to make sure his friends were happy. She had just been to blind to see it. All she had seen was the pompus quidditch player who ruffled his hair.

"Can we reschedual Friday's prefects meeting to Monday?" he asked, pulling her from her thoughts.

"Why?" she asked, some-what dissapointed.

"Because," he said leaning closer to whisper in her ear. "Friday's the full moon."

Lily felt a shiver go down her spine as his breath tickled her ear. She gasped, horrified when her mind registered what he'd said. "Oh! Of course, I'd forgotten that was this week!" she said.

"Thanks Lils," James said greatfully.

"Anytime James, if there's anything I can do to help, just ask," she told him.

James hugged her, lingering a moment longer than was nessasary before pulling away. "I guess I'll see you later," he said, making to leave.

"James," Lily said before she could stop herself.

"Yeah?"

"Are-are you goig to the ball tonight?" she asked, blushing.

"I wasn't planning on it, why?" he said.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to, you know, go," she said blushing deeper.

"I don't have a date, and you can't go with out one so..." he trailed off.

"We could go together, " she suggested, her face a prety shade of deep pink.

"As friends?" he asked.

"Well, no, like a, well, a date," she said meekly. "I mean, that is if you want to."

"Like a boyfriend girlfriend date? As in, we dance to the slow songs and I get to walk you to your dormitory and kiss you goodnight?" he asked.

"Yes, only I was hoping for more than one kiss, and possibly more than one date,"she said, unable to meet his eyes.

James pulled her into his arms and rested his chin on her hair. "I've never wanted anything more. I'll kiss you as many times as you want me too, and I'll take you on as many dates as you'll let me." he said, kissing her head.

Lily smiled up at him before she pulled him down to her and kissed him. At that moment, Lily Evans was sure of one thing. One day, she was going to be Mrs. James Potter, and she couldn't have been happier.
