"George, can I ask you something?"

"Can I stop you?"

"Neville said something to me the other day, and it got me thinking."

"Since when are you chatty with Neville?"

"Do you and Luna ever quarrel?"

"You and Neville were talking about whether or not I quarrel with my wife?"

"Yes. Well, no, not really, but the subject did come up."

"Why?"

"He and Charlie were . . . it's not important. Do you?"

"Do I what?"

"Quarrel with Luna."

"Oh. Well . . . it's not exactly quarreling."

"But you fight? You argue?"

"Again, not exactly."

"So you don't row at all?"

"What do we have to row about?"

"I dunno. Normal stuff. What to have for dinner, whose turn it is to take out the trash, how to raise your kids, whatever."

"You make Angie take out the trash? Amateur."

"Come on, you've got to fight about something!"

"Why? You know how Luna is. She doesn't quarrel."

"What do you do when you disagree?"

"It's called 'talking,' Fred, maybe you've heard of it. And we have these things called 'conversations.'"

"And that actually works?"

"Yeah, so far."

"But don't you ever get upset with one another?"

"Sure, I suppose, but it's usually just because one of us isn't looking at the whole picture. Typically me."

"Oh, I see. You just automatically agree with her all the time so there's no argument."

"No, I don't. I agree with her when she's right, and she agrees with me when I'm right. She just happens to be right more often. Besides, why would I want to go home and argue with Luna when I've just spent all day here arguing with you?"

"We don't argue all day."

"We're arguing right now."

"That's different."

"Look, Fred, I just don't feel the need to quarrel with my wife all the time. It wouldn't do any good anyway. And speaking of Luna . . . Hello, wife!"

"Hello, husband. Hello, Fred. Were you speaking of me?"

"We were, actually. Fred and I were just having a little debate. He doesn't believe that you and I don't quarrel."

"Why would we want to quarrel?"

"I have no idea. That's what I've been trying to tell him."

"Fred, why would we want to quarrel?"

"Well, there's always the make-up sex. That's half the reason I quarrel with Angie."

"You know, Luna, I think he might have a valid point."

"I think you're right. We need to go find something to quarrel about."
