Harry,

I don't know if you'll get this, or how to even send it, but mum says not to worry. She said you'll get it, they have people who'll make sure of it. I don't know how she's so sure, but I trust her. So here it goes.

I guess, since the world hasn't ended, and all that really weird stuff has stopped, that you're not dead. And, um, you won against that Vol—Volda--really bad guy you were worried about. Right. So…thanks, and all that.

They've been worried, mum and dad, about you. Though they say they're not. Dad said he wasn't going to pay for some big wizard funeral. He actually said wizard – I thought he was going to drop dead.

I keep expecting to see that owl of yours flying at the windows. Or those screeching letters you used to get. But so far, it's been really quiet.

So. Mum took me to a place called Godric's Hollow last summer, when dad had his heart attack (he's okay, just forced to retire early is all. He putters around the house all day now). I seen it. The house I mean. Where your parents…it's an awful mess, still. Mum cried. Like I've never seen her cry before. And she told me. Told em all about it. She told me about your mum, Aunt Lily.

It's all…it's all rotten luck isn't it? I'd say I was sorry and all, but dad says you can't go fixing the past with sorrys. I know we were never raised as family. We never really…

I just think it'd be good if you let mum know you were okay, that's all.

D
