Could you whisper in my ear the things you wanna feel? I'd give you anything to feel it coming.

I looked into Kate's hazel eyes. "Kate, what do you want?" I whispered softly in her ear.

She looked up at me. "I want…" she trailed. Kate was silent for a moment. "I want…" Once again her sentence faded into nothingness.

"If you could have anything…" I started.

The moonlight shone on her face. Waves rolled gently on the shore.

"I want…I want someone to love me for who I really am. Someone that accepts me even though I have a horrid past," she murmured tenderly.

"I think I know of a person."

"Who?"

"Me."

"But, Jack, you don't have a clue what I did!"

Don't you love the life you killed? The priest is on the phone. Your father hit the wall. Your ma disowned you. And I'll do anything you ever dreamed to be complete.

"Then what did you do?" I asked.

Kate became gravely silent. After a moment she whispered, "I killed my father." Then Kate looked away from me. "Then my mother found out and disowned me."

So why don't you slide?

I put my arms around Kate and pulled her close to me. "Kate, I still love you."

She looked at me. "You do?" Tears shimmered in her eyes.

"Yes, Kate."

Put your arms around me. What you feel is what you are. And what you are is beautiful.

Kate wrapped her arms around my neck as my arms rested around her waist. "Kate, you're beautiful," I said.

She blushed and smiled. "Thank you."

I kissed her lips gently. "I love you, Kate. I really do. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

Do you wanna get married? Or run away?

Kate looked up at me. "I love you too, Jack," she said.

"Kate, when we get off this island will you stop running to marry me?" I asked gently.

She looked up at me surprised. "Really, Jack?"

I nodded. "Yes. Really."

She smiled widely. "Yes!" Then she kissed my lips.

I kissed her back.

I wanna wake up where you are.

Deep down in my heart I knew Kate would stop running. Just for me. Then we would start our life together. Forever.
