One moment he was defending his wife from the Death Eaters, and the next...

The next he was wandering through dense mists utterly alone.

Well, alone is better than Death Eaters Remus smirked.

Slowly, he began inching his way through the mists. With each step, he felt warmth seeping into the very core of his being. He hadn't felt this good since he was in his twenties.

"Moony!"

Remus started at the sound of someone calling his name. "Padfoot?"

"This way, Remus!"

"Lily!" With that, Remus began running towards the sounds of his friends.

The mists pulled away, leaving Remus in a beautiful field on a brightly sunny day. So bright, in fact, that Remus had to shade his eyes to see where he was.

In the middle of the field, there was a large willow tree. Under the tree...

"Padfoot!"

"Sirius! James!" Remus couldn't stop the tears from flowing down his cheeks as he hugged his dearest friends. "I've missed you so!"

"And what am I? Chopped liver?"

Remus swept Lily up into a fierce hug. "Of course not, Lily."

"Should I be jealous?" A female voice cut into the moment.

Sirius blinked. "Tonks?"

"Dora Lupin now, cousin."

Lily released Remus to hug Dora. "Congratulations! I always knew Remus would someone someday who would love him as he deserves."

Sirius snorted and threw his arms into the air. "But did it have to be my obnoxious baby cousin?"

As Dora began chasing her cousin, the sounds of laughter echoed through the fields.

"Oh #$#," a low voice drawled, "what did I do to deserve THIS?"
