Title: Promises
Drabble: #11
TK's prompt: Jeremy Kyle
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon. Or Jeremy Kyle.
Notes: For all you Americans, Jeremy Kyle is like a British equivalent of Oprah Winfrey or Ricki Lake, only much better.

When they're not out shopping or getting themselves ready for a party, Mimi and Miyako's favourite thing to do is watch daytime TV together.

Whenever there's a cooking show on, Miyako always lets Mimi watch it. Her girlfriend is a fantastic cook, and Miyako knows that she really enjoys learning new recipes. More often than not, after Mimi watches a daytime cooking program, she'll be so geared up about what she's learned that she'll buy the ingredients and try the recipes out herself the same evening.

Miyako always gets to be the guinea pig, which is a bonus.

She likes talk shows best; she thinks it's because she wants to be better at helping people when they need it, and talk show hosts are always the epitome of helpfulness. At times, these programs can also be quite funny, and she and Mimi like to point out everything wrong with what the guests are wearing.

Today they're watching 'Jeremy Kyle'; he's Miyako's absolute favourite talk show host.

She and Mimi haven't been awake for very long, so they've opted to watch the program in bed. They're both lazily positioned; Mimi laying on her front and Miyako sprawled across her girlfriend's back. They chatter idly, about everything and nothing, and every now and then about the lesbian and her homophobic mother who are currently being counselled by Jeremy Kyle.

Mimi eyes the lesbian in disdain, saying that she gives all of them a bad name with her boy-cut hair, unflattering clothes and obvious lack of care for the way she looks. Mimi wouldn't even dream of going out in public looking like that girl. Miyako agrees, but would prefer to pick holes in the way the mother is acting; she has no tolerance for homophobes.

They both watch with mild interest as the debate escalates; the daughter's girlfriend is brought out, who promptly starts screaming abuse at the mother. The mother responds by trying to attack the girlfriend, and they both have to be restrained.

Miyako can't help but wonder if she and Mimi will one day end up on this show.

Mimi promises that they won't. They're better than that.
