Unmasked
By poetic love
I've been unmasked,
Now I can't hide.
But can this be a chance in disguise?
Now can I tell you I love you?
Without being scared of my lord?
Alas no.
My existence pains even my eyes,
For I amunworthy foranother's love, such as yours
Your position was well ranked.
Your charm was your work.
Our words silently passed over the piles of paper.
My fear was love.
For if I did love you,
Your life would be targeted.
Now I am unmasked, as well as my brother.
Now we await our demise.
His fate was freedom, to love his emperor.
Mine was to be free,
But now your trust is shattered.
I've lived a lie and earned youraffection.
Now your hate clouds your feelings.
Towards me, you direct conflict.
I now flee from Suzuki,
From your touch, your reach
To never know what our lives would be like together.
Do you hate me?
No, hate what I was doing.
Born into this body, that abides to live.
Now I am unmasked.
A love I'll never know,
I leave behind in faded memories.
Carry on.
Your love will reach another fairer than me.
My mask burns inside your mind.
It leaves a scar far worse than you think.
Deeper than thy own soul
Forgive me.
