Author's Note: Wrote this on a whim today for no reason, but hey. One shot. School days. Only four people are mentioned, but that's completely fine. I don't really know what timeline this is from, because post-timeskip, they're probably not taking classes, are they? Oh well. So they're sitting in class. That's all you need to know.
Warnings? Not really. Fluff and WaFF. (Warm and fuzzy feelings)

And in the way her eyelashes almost brushed against her cheeks as she gazed at the paper in front of her, her hand gliding over the paper as she wrote her reply in pink gel pen, a small smile graced her lips, turning the corners up just the slightest, blessing her features with a delicate beauty so graceful that he could hardly bear it.
Looking up with sea-green eyes, she glanced at the teacher quickly before tossing the note back to him, and a perfect throw it was. It landed right in his lap where their instructor wouldn't see, had she looked up just in time. Oh, but she knew about this note-throwing. She was a smart woman, and knew that young love was not to be trifled with. She would let them alone for the time being. Until it started interfering with their studies, she wouldn't say anything.
Instructor Kurenai Yuhi, a jounin from Konoha, smiled to herself. She'd seen this coming since the first time the boy had laid eyes on the girl he studied. But this wasn't something to be worried over: his class work was always completed, his studying apparent, as he never failed or did poorly on his tests, but this girl…this girl had his attention like no teacher ever could.
Rock Lee glanced at the note as Kurenai continued talking about effective ways to use different jutsus.
The blush spread over his cheeks and couldn't be helped as he read the reply.
His question had been simple, to the point, innocent and pure. Why had his hand shaken so much as he'd written it? Because the thought of being alone with her made him nervous. He'd never show her that, though. He had to be strong for her, to swear that he could protect her always and give her no reason to fear. Ever.
"Would you like to eat lunch with me today?" He'd asked, unsure of how to word such a simple question. But, written in the space following his messy scrawl, written in gentle pink pen, was a simple reply.
"I'd love to."
Lee was in paradise, and not of the Icha Icha variety that Kakashi-sensei was so frequently seen with. He glanced up at Sakura who sat a row over and one back from where he sat. He couldn't stifle his blush, which only deepened when he saw hers.
It was in that moment that Rock Lee decided that if he were to die this evening, he would be happy.
This…was something that he could carry with him forever. This was something he'd finally had in his favor. For Sakura to finally see the light and see that Sasuke Uchiha really wasn't the object of her affection as she'd told herself for years and to finally start looking around and notice there was someone out there who worshiped the ground she walked on… Lee didn't know where to begin.
But he knew the best place to start would be lunch. And he couldn't wait.
