Bearing these broken wings, here I fall.
Everyone's so blurry, everyone's so faint.
I stumble, then I crawl.
You could be my someone, I'll protect you.
Protect you.
Raito plays the piano. He writes on music sheets, and they are perfect. And every night, Matsuda sneaks out of his room to watch him. He loses himself as Raito's magical fingers dance around on the keys of the piano. He never played anything happy, and as he played, his eyes didn't have that twinkle of intelligence in them like they usually did. They looked like Ryuzaki's; deep, black holes of untrusting sorrow.
He slowly found himself falling in love.
How Raito found out Matsuda was watching him was quite on accident. Matsuda usually hides behind the door to the living room where the piano was, and one night, Matsuda leaned on the door, and fell inside the room.
"Matsuda-san? Why are you here?"
Matsuda picked himself up off the ground, dusted himself off, and his cream-colored cheeks turned a bright pink. "I was listening you play. You're very talented, Yagami-kun." he smiled nervously. Smooth, Matsuda. Real smooth. he mentally cursed himself for being so careless.
"Would you like to sit over here?" Raito patted the bare spot on the seat next to him. Matsuda hesistated, but slowly inched to the seat. Once he sat down, Raito turned to the piano and started playing a soft tune. Matsuda saw Raito's eyes scanning the page in front of him. "Matsuda-san, could you please turn the page for me?" Matsuda jumped about three feet in the air. Surprised, obviously. He nodded and turned the page. What Raito started playing was professional. Or, at least in Matsuda's eyes it was.
"Where'd you learn to play, Yagami-kun?" Matsuda asked, looking deep into Raito's eyes. Raito looked down at the piano as he was playing. It took him a while to start explaining, "I taught myself." he said blandly.
"That's amazing!"
"Not really." Raito disagreed. Matsuda frowned deeply. "Don't lie to yourself." he growled. "Maybe you just haven't realized that you're a terrific piano player. Professional, even." he spat.
Raito glared at Matsuda, took his chin, then landed a kiss on him.
