'Tell Me,

What is heaven'?

Sakura reached up and traced her small finger around the outline of the coloured glass. The figures were cloaked in purest white and with golden hair shrouded by celestial light. Even when the church was so old and its walls continuously crumbling to dust, the delicate patterns created on the large glass was still in tact and still beautifully pristine.

She was still looking up at the winged figures and outlining their feathers, deep in her own thoughts when a larger hand fell atop of her own.

"Hmm? Sakura-chan? What are you doing?" asked Fai.

Sakura turned to face him, "What is this a picture of?" she asked in a quiet voice.

Fai stopped looking into her eyes and examined the window, "Oh!" he said, smiling, "These are angels,"

"Angels," Sakura repeated, not letting go of Fai's hand, "They remind me of you,"

Fai's smile faltered a moment, he let go of her hand, "No," he said, "I'm nothing like an angel, not at all," he said, before chuckling lightly.

Sakura smiled, "If it wasn't for the wings," she said, "You'd be a perfect match,"

Fai smiled, "But for this, Sakura-chan, I think it is you who is more like an angel,"

Sakura blushed lightly, "Me? Why is that Fai-san?"

Fai took her hand in his again, "You are an angel," he said lightly, before pointing a finger to her heart, "Right there,"

Sakura looked at him with wide eyes. They spoke of warmth but also confusement.

"Never mind that, we should be leaving soon, Sakura-chan," said Fai, beginning to stand up.

"Tell me," Sakura said in a louder voice, so he wouldn't turn away, "Where do angels come from? Will we ever see them?"

Fai looked at her beautiful curiosity and saw it was full of hope. He smiled, a little sadly than before.

"Maybe some day," he said, distantly. "Angels," he said, looking at the painted glass, "They come from heaven, but, I don't know much about them, myself. Some say, that a higher power created angels to be his messengers. They carried his heavenly messages and did anything he needed. Others say, that people are angels. When we reach heaven, an angel is what we become." he said quietly, "Or something like that," he turned and smiled.

But she was almost crying.

"I forget," she said, "I know I've heard of it before, but," she paused. "What is heaven?" she asked.

Fai was quiet for a while.

"I've heard," he said, "When a person dies, they move on from this world and go on to another,"

"Like us?" she asked.

"No," Fai replied, "Not like us. Its somewhere different. Its a place apart. Not for the living,"

Sakura was quiet, taking it all in.

"So if I were to die," she said eventually, "I would become an angel?"

Fai held her hand close to his heart.

"I'm not sure, Sakura-chan, nobody can truly know what happens when we die," he began walking away from the picture. "We should really get going," he smiled.

They walked for a while in silence, but from the way she held his hand so tight, Fai knew she wanted to say something.

"I know," she said eventually, close to a whisper, "I think I know what will be waiting for me after life,"

Fai stopped to listen.

"I think, that you find a place that is like your life. All the good parts, all the good people, all of the memories you've held so dear to your heart. Everything will be there. But it will be different. It will be beautiful. It will be everything you've always wished for but without the suffering you have to see or the sadness you have taking hold of you. And I know, that when I'm gone. You will all be there waiting. Kurogane-san will be there. Syoaran-kun and Mokona too. And you will be there Fai. But it will be different. You'll all be able to smile without secretly thinking of suffering. And we'll all be together." Sakura said, a single tear running down her cheek.

Fai raised a hand and brushed away her tear. He pulled her towards him and held her close.

"We will always be together," he assured her.
