This is my first fic, yay! So welcome and thanks for clicking on the title! ^-^

Enjoy!

Roy stared absentmindedly at his paperwork. He pretended to be reading it, while really he was thinking about how bored he was going to be when he got home.

'Jeez. Friday night and I have nothing to do? No dates? Nothing? Man, I guess I'm just turning into a pathetic loser with no way to spend time.'

Bored, the lazy Colonel looked up and observed the room around him. His gaze landed on Riza, scribbling away at her paperwork. Roy noticed that she was scowling as she worked, and when she finally finished signing and stamping, Roy asked, "Lieutenant? Is there something bothering you?"

Appearing to be slightly startled, the First Lieutenant looked up and met the Colonel's questioning gaze.

"No, Sir. Of course not."

"Good."

Roy shifted a bit, trying to get more comfortable. Then he turned around in his swivel chair and stared out the window. He had just started to daydream about meeting an incredibly attractive woman when Riza's stern voice snapped him out of his thoughts and back into reality.

"Finish your paperwork, Sir."

Roy sighed, and then spun around in his chair back to his desk.

An incredibly long time later, Roy was just signing his last sheet of paperwork for the day. As he put the document into the pile of finished papers (the pile wasn't actually very big), he noticed the Lieutenant starting to leave.

"Lieutenant?"

Riza paused. "Yes, Sir?" She was just pulling on her coat and getting ready to go home.

Roy knew Riza was an obedient military officer, never disobeying rules. She was actually the perfect role model for any soldier in the military. If they were seen together in a manner other than professional, both of their military careers would be risked. Roy knew his job was in great danger, but frankly, he didn't care. If he could be with the woman he desired, he would give up anything at all.

Roy hesitated for a moment, pondering whether or not to ask, then worked up his courage and spoke. "Err, Lieutenant… would you, um…." Roy took a deep breath to calm his nerves. It didn't work. He pushed himself on to continue. He was a ladies' man after all. "Would you consider… spending the evening with me?"

Riza raised an eyebrow. "What exactly do you mean by that, Sir?"

Roy realised the question came out totally wrong. "Oops, wait, hold on, I didn't mean it like that!" He had only meant a quiet, calm evening. A nice, romantic date. With no guns involved. If Riza thought Roy had wanted her to do something crazy, like spend the night (on the first date?), Riza would shoot him for sure. "No, no, no! I only meant, well, dining at a nice restaurant, perhaps?"

"I see," Was Riza's stony reply. "Well, Sir," She started. Then she did something Roy was afraid of. Very, VERY, afraid of.

She clicked the safety off her gun.

Roy gulped.

Riza took out her gun. She examined it carefully.

Finally, Roy couldn't take it anymore. "Riza, either say yes or just shoot me!"

Surprised, Riza blinked and looked up at her commanding officer.

Roy held his breath, expecting to die on the spot.

Riza finally spoke. "Well, Sir, if I shot you I don't think you would enjoy your meal tonight. At a nice little restaurant. With me."

Roy blinked. 'What?'

After a second, he finally understood.

And he smiled.

So what did y'all think? This is my first fanfic, and even so, I wouldn't want anyone going easy on me. So if you're nice enough to review *hint hint* then don't tell me it's good if you think it's bad, eh?

A review would be greatly appreciated! I'd really like to hear what you think!

Thanks for reading!
