He allowed a small smile to pass his lips as he pushed Fenrir into a higher gear. Leaving the city of Edge behind him, he set off down the straight road that led into the countryside. The sun was rising over the mountains, casting the ocean to glow in bright orange light and the wind was gently caressing his form as he drove forwards.

Half an hour later and a large flower field stretched over the distance. He pulled the motorbike into a lay-by and removed his sunglasses, smiling as he looked towards the field. There she was; the image of perfection.

He slid off the vehicle and stepped towards her, staring into her beautiful green eyes that he had not seen for over two years. She watched him with interest, raising a slender brow in amused curiosity. Yet his pace never slowed as he forced himself through the flowers until he was standing right in front of her.

She tilted her head to the side, a playful smile on her lips. "You took your time," she greeted. He continued to stare into her eyes and sensing his slight hesitation she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his waist, letting her head rest on his shoulder. She felt him tense for a moment before his arms wrapped around her, pulling her up against him as if he were afraid to let go of her again.

"I…" he began but stopped himself. She lifted her head and smiled at him.

"I know," she whispered.

He held her gaze for a moment before his eyes travelled down to her soft cherry lips. They turned upwards teasing and he glanced up again in time to catch her teasing eyes staring right back at him. Frowning slightly, he looked away. He had never handled teasing very well.

Aerith let out a short sigh and let her hand travel up to his cheek, forcing him to face her again. Slowly, she raised her head and softly pressed her lips against his. After a second of stunned immobility, his grip tightened around her and he returned the kiss with full passion.

And somewhere in the part of his mind that could still think through the sensations, he thought that if this was what heaven was like, he never wanted to leave.
