Tribulation

Authoress' Note & Disclaimer: This is a truly and completely random little drabble of mine for Bizenghast, but I can tell you that while I don't own the manga, I love the art. I love Erzebet, too, because she is truly, truly sane compared to everyone else. I wish I were the same way, but unfortunately I'm not. If I were, I wouldn't be so disturbed by spiders.

I can't seem to find anything else to say, so carry on.

Erzebet is too pure for the outside world to behold her, Edrear decides of own accord, so he takes her away from the outside world into a garden beneath the beneath where she can live forever, truly immortal. She is of God, a sacrosanct personification of reprieve; and furthermore, he knows she knows this. She is not a ghost, sadistic and twisted in their need for humanity, nor a true member of the Sunken Mausoleum - especially not a cleaner; Erzebet was the possessor of a far too shy demeanor to ever cross that particular line.

No, he resolves, she will not be another tainted prisoner of the Mausoleum.

He will see to that himself, and ensure her safety.

"Lady of God," he names her, but in his head, he calls her his savior.

So long as the choice is up to him, she is to remain untarnished.
