I, The Hooded Menace, have written a lame little Aquaven ficlet to tide over those who are waiting for updates on "The Power Of The Sea". Sorry guys; I am working on it! Anyway, read and review.
Disclaimer - If I owned Teen Titans, Raven would be fought over all the time. And Aqualad would be my love slave :D
Turning the Tides
"Robin! We need your team's help immediately!" screamed Bumblebee into her communicator, "Some wacko blew a hole in the dam, and it's going to flood the whole city if it's not fixed soon!"
"Can't Aqualad push back the waters?" Robin asked, gathering his team.
"He can keep them from flooding, but not for forever. Anyway, we need repair help, and FAST!"
"We're on our way," Robin said, clicking his communicator shut, "Titans, GO!"
Soon, they arrived in the T-Plane. Bee was waiting for them anxiously.
"The break is over there," she pointed, "It needs to be fixed soon, or the stress could cause the whole dam to shatter. Even Aqualad couldn't stop much water from escaping. As it is, he's having a hard time."
"What do you need us to do?"
"Robin, I need you to take command of the workers. Starfire, I need you to transport materials to the spot. Beastboy, you do what Robin tells you to. Cyborg, you help with repairs. And Raven," Bee turned to the empath, "Do you think you could use your powers to help Aqualad hold back the waters?"
"I think so," she replied in a monotone.
"Great. Then let's go!" cried the Titans East leader, "I need to fly around to make sure there aren't any more breaches in the dam."
Raven flew over to the hole. There stood Aqualad, arms raised, keeping the water from flooding everything. Beads of sweat clung to his face.
"I'm here to help," she told him, raising her arms as well. Her black magic formed a shield, which helped push the water back.
"Thanks," he replied, briefly smiling at her, then turning back to the water, "This is pretty heavy."
The workers worked as fast as they could, but it was still taking a while. The more of the hole they filled in, the worse the water pressure was in the area they hadn't. Raven's arms ached, as did Aqualad's.
"I feel like Moses parting the Red Sea," he quipped, attempting to lighten the atmosphere.
"He only had to wait until the Israelites crossed," Raven retorted, "Not until they built a wall."
"Point taken. But at least I have a lovely assistant, where Moses didn't," smirked Aqualad.
"Assistant, eh? If I wasn't holding up a wall of water, you'd be regretting that."
"But you are, so I guess I can say whatever I want, risk-free."
"Anything risky you want to get off your chest?" she queried.
"The load of water, for one."
"No, really. Is there anything that you need to say now when you can't get smacked?"
"Well, I've always wondered if you have the same skin color all over your body, or if the visible skin is tanned."
Raven sighed. "Even though that is a really weird question, I'll answer it. I don't tan, so my skin looks the same everywhere, Yes, everywhere. Anything else?"
Aqualad looked slightly more uncomfortable. "Um, maybe after this is over, would you like to get something to eat or something?"
The girl raised an eyebrow. "Like a date?"
"Yes, a date."
For a moment, she was quiet, and he was afraid she was going to reject him. But then, she smiled.
"I'd love to."
It took the workers about an hour more to finish repairing the damage. Aqualad and Raven gave simultaneous sighs of relief as they let their arms drop.
Aqualad turned to Raven. "I believe you promised me a date."
"That I did."
Linking arms, the Titans left together, on their first date.
