Inescapable connection or Observations
Who did she remind him of?
He pondered the drifting thought with an intensity he gave everything.
It was bothersome to no end. It was a connection that was right there, clear once he knew what it was, but not in his grasp.
She was doing extreamly well for a first year, although she was presumpious in her knowlege and too eager to share. Hermione Granger. Clearly muggle born. His eyes slid to the boy next to her, clumsily going about his potion brewing, and just the sight of his black hair, and glasses curled his lip with disgust. Harry James Potter; there was doubt who he reminded him of. Harry suddenly looked up with startling green eyes, looking around for an ingrediant that he had misplaced. A jolt of realization and the thread of sudden subconcious connection struck him.
Lily.
It was Lily.
Not her in the truest form of the word, necessarily, but the reminicance was still there. Although Lily was much more socially adept...
The Weasley boy leaned over to Hermiones cauldron trying to figure out why his potion was failing so miserably so early. She kindly added a little mulberry and stirred twice to fix it.
A piece of paper struck her on her back. In the general direction of which it came was a snickering Draco Malfoy. Severus had to forcibly control his muscles so they would not twitch in aggrievement. He thinned his lips. Hermione ignored it with a hard look on her soft face. Harry and Ron did not notice. Dunces. Exactly like their prediscessors. Although Weasley was dangerously close into falling into Pettigrews role.
Draco however was a different matter entirely. He hadn't spent this much time with his God-son before, but this was certainly not how he was at home. And he certainly did not act like Lucius when he was at school. He was reminding the now slightly frightened potions master more and more of the notorious Sirius Black. If Sirius wasn't such a bleeding pouting ninny.
His thoughts were silent for a moment registering the possibilities of this.
He would have to watch them so very closely. The past would repeat.
So no pairing. But I always like the incantrite web of vagueness
