Originally, she had brought him here to tell him how she felt. She wanted to get away from everyone, from everything and tell Cloud Strife that the hints she had been dropping him weren't imagined. She was truly, madly, deeply in love with him.

But now that he was standing before her with those dazzling blue eyes, she couldn't do it. The way he was looking at her with silent desperation, begging for her to forgive him for ever hurting her. She couldn't bring herself to do it.

How could she say she loved him when she was going to turn his back on him? How could she just blurt out her feelings before she let herself fall to Sephiroth's blade? It was easier this way. She wouldn't have to deal with the guilt. She may have been selfish but she thought, since she was giving up her life for the Planet, she was entitled to be selfish.

So she just told him where she was, that he was not to worry about her. But her heart ached at his broken expression and the words just fell from her mouth.

"I'll come back when it's all over."

But she knew she would never come back.

She bid Cloud a last farewell before walking away, with unspoken words still clinging to her form.

I love you.
