"You have four thousand dollars missing from your bank account?"
Chase's expression was, in House's opinion, worth a measly four grand. He grinned. "It's not missing. Nobody stole it. I had it and I spent it."
"You just can't remember what you spent it on."
House shrugged. "I'm sure I spent it on something."
"But you don't know what." Chase's mouth still hung open and he gestured ineffectually from his perch between household bills and hard copies of bank statements.
"Did I spend it all at once?" House asked, squinting at the paper.
"No."
"Then it was probably on you."
