Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach.
A/N: I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but here's a baby-fic, born of my own boredom for you all. Enjoy.

Many of the living world's holidays are seen as pointless in Soul Society. 'Which is why,' figured Yachiru, 'we celebrate them!'

It's true, most of the time, if it's only for a day, or only five minutes, Soul Society will celebrate most of the living world's holidays. Maybe it's to give the hard-working shinigami a rest, but no one really knows, and no one's ever thought to question it.

So, on this day of days in mid-February, when the wind has picked up and it's just a bit colder than usual, the smallest shinigami in all of Soul Society, finds herself alone.

"Ken-chan! Ken-chan," Yachiru sighed, shoulders drooping. She had been searching for half and hour, and still couldn't find her captain.

"Yachiru," came the deep voice from behind her. Yachiru perked up immediately, whirling around to face her captain.

"Ken-chan!" She leapt, her arms wrapping around his neck, as he clutched her tightly to him.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Ken-chan," she chirped happily, placing a quick peck on his cheek.

"Yeah, yeah. Happy-whatever," he responded with a chuckle, returning her show of affection.

With a giggle, she let go of him, dropping to the ground.

"Now let's go find Ichi!" and with another giggle, she took off. Kenpachi paused, watching her for a moment.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Yachiru-chan."
